Just purchased one of these from WHS at Cribbs Causeway, J17 M5 intended as a Xmas pressie for my wife's parents in Brazil.

In their part of Brazil the local domestic supply is 220-240v at 60Hz. Am I right that the Cyberhome should be able to be plugged in (via a travel adapter) and run ok or will I need to purchase a transformer?

I am aware that several of these players have had problems with their PSU's burning out - seem mainly to have been those manufactured around May 2003. Mine has a label saying it was manufactured in December 2003 - are these later players' psu also affected by this problem?

Brazil also uses the PAL-M tv standard and I am guessing the tvs' use a component video connection - is this likely to cause any problems?

I guess if it works but the psu burns out while in Brazil I'll tell them to bin it
