So we all love a bit of Bob but the other year I had a little search for some alternative artists in these genres and I discovered Sister Nancy, particularly the track "Bam Bam" which I suppose is early dancehall (can't stand modern dancehall!).
What other artists can you recommend as I can't get enough of this music in the summer?! ![]() ![]()

Beenie Man - King of the dancehall, or Dude (my parents LOVE that song), or Girls. Absolute tunes.
There are so many! Also Sean Paul -I'm still in love with you. Kevin Lyttle - turn me on Hope this helps. |

I'm a big fan of late 70's roots style reggae. Good rhythms and catchy songs. (Political yes, but that was the time) A good start would be tracking down the Roots Reggae Essentials cd. Some fine songs. Doesn't have Dennis Brown's Money In My Pocket on it though.

This the kind of thing you're after?
Delroy Wilson - Run Run http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdopmJSaxVw That Sister Nancy track is a Toots & The Maytals number, who I definitely recommend too. |
