On the BGT victory last night. Got more viewers overall than The Voice.

Only just, plus The Voice were the winners in the 20 mins they clashed, overall though BGT's opening rating was down on previous years.
Oh, I thought this was going to be about how much of a prick he made himself look with the "When you thought it couldn't get any worse" comment.

Agree about that comment.
It annoyed me for a number of reasons. The fact that Simon had the nerve to say it in the first place, and the fact that it could not have come across as more forced, simply so that this could be a 'wow I didn't expect that' moment. The saddest thing is that, based on it obviously being a set-up, it must mean that Simon thinks it's the natural reaction when you see someone like Jonathan wanting to display a talent, to mutter something insulting and roll your eyes.

The Voice was always going to win the overlap as it had already been on for an hour whereas BGT was just starting. It's hardly a fair comparison to make between the two shows. BGT was actually up on last year's launch once the overlap ended.

It was either forced or he's a complete idiot. He should know better now after Paul Potts and Susan Boyle!
