I'm only 19. I believe the 'I Feel You' single was released a week before I was born. I love that song!
And happy belated birthday to Martin as well. Great voice. |

Haha yeah, they did suit the whole black leather look. They don't look very good here though

I'm putting all their albums on my i-Pod at the moment and I' up to Construction Time Again... what an album, this is where they really came into their own
![]() "Shouldn't Have Done That" and "The Sun & the Rainfall" are my favourite tracks from A broken Frame and they segue really well onto Construction Time again

Out of all the vids he's done for the Mode, 'A Question Of Time' still baffles me. Don't know what on earth any of it is about

Oops, you are probably right, I just saw it on tumblr, probably old news. Yeah that video is a bit weird, I love Strangelove and Behind the Wheel's videos, Leave in silence and Hole to feed are probably the worst imo.
![]() I think the black and white thing he did for a few of their videos works really well. |

'It's No Good' makes me cringe slightly. I know it's supposed to be a deliberately cheesy band for the vid, but it's a bit too cheesy for my liking. The faces Dave pulls are a bit much!

Haha yeah, he does work the pimp look though, I didn't really think much of the Freelove video either, but I don't think Anton directed it.
The modern videos seem to lack something for me. Some of them I still like though. 'Suffer Well', 'Precious' and 'Wrong' spring to mind. |

Suffer Well is a great song with a great video, didn't like Peace either, it would be good if the band featured a bit more in their recent videos

I know that, apart from SOFAD, they've never opted to put themselves on their album covers. So I'm wondering if they want to take a back seat for videos too

That's something I noticed about the recent stuff too. I've read that they weren't in 'Peace' because Dave wasn't well, but don't know about the others.

Yeah, I remember Andy said that they didn't put themselves on the covers of albums because they would look older in the future (or something like that). SOFAD is a pretty decent cover though.
SOFAD is a decent cover. I still find it slightly strange to see grunge Dave though ![]()

I was thinking that could be a reason that they're stepping back from videos now. Of course I could be wrong and they just wanted to try something different video-wise!

Not a fan of long haired Dave but I know he was into that whole grunge scene when he moved to LA with his second wife, didn't she kind of get him into that lifestyle?

Oh right, it is quite sad that he left his first wife and baby, apparently he cheated on both wives whenever the band went on tour

Yeah he did play away, sadly
I think he just got too addicted to the rock n roll lifestyle. I suppose they all did in a way because by the time it came to SOFAD, they were falling apart. People genuinely thought it'd be their last hurrah because they didn't think Dave was going to survive much longer.Jonathan Miller's book on them is a really good read. Gives a real behind-the-scenes look at all the highs and lows. |
