I've got entries flooding in at the moment!

There's no problem with that but seriously, there's no rush

Turkey made a rare final appearance in Warsaw but ended up third from bottom in the final. They reached their highest position (3rd) the last time I hosted. They’ve selected Aydilge, a writer, poet and singer-songwriter, from Istanbul to sing for them in Stavanger with her song “Takinti”!

Next up we head across the North Sea to Scotland to hear their latest offering. They’re another country who’ve opted for a returning artist, this time it’s Amy McDonald. She failed to get out the semi final in Helsingborg but she’s back for another go. Scotland have chosen “Your Time Will Come” to represent them in Stavanger.

The Storm have already made one venture into Fantasy Eurovision but this time they’re getting the chance to represent their actual country, Denmark. Unlike their Scandanavian friends, they’ve never managed a win. Could “My Crown” be the jewel in the Danish crown?!

Weren't Amy McDonald and The Storm both at the same contest?

The Storm were disqualified I think and I had Amy then (and was very disappointed she failed to qualify)

Turkey: I sort of like this, but unfortunately it feels like it meanders about for a while without really going anywhere unfortunately, a nice song but i think it may be quite forgettable.

Scotland: Yay, I happen to quite like Amy and this song. Not the strongest song she's made but I do think this is quite nice and easy to listen to, hope it does well!

Denmark: I tried to enter the storm last contest and accidentally chose a song that was entered before without checking . I quite like them, could see this doing reasonably well.

Rankings

Scotland - 7.5
Denmark - 7
Turkey - 5
Wales - 4
Moldova - 2

Azerbaijan is another country which managed their record finish the last time I hosted. Since then it’s been slim pickings with just one final appearance all the way back in Llanfair. He’s originally from Persia but describes it as “the part that most people would call Azerbaijan”! Regardless he’s here, he's Sami Yusuf, he’s representing Azerbaijan and he’s singing “Healing”.

So is he actually from Iran? Are we doing extra flexible qualification rules again?

*looks for song from someone Swedish*

According to his Wiki page, "Sami Yusuf is a British singer-songwriter, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist musician of Azerbaijan origin" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sami_Yusuf

When I did a bit of digging I found this interview http://www.samiyusuf.com/press/2005_...0_cuttings.htm where he says "I am originally from Persia, the part that most people would call Azerbaijan but sadly, because of the fact that I've been raised here, I don't really know that much about Azerbaijan to share with you. But, from the little that I do know, the Azeri people are very spiritual with a deep appreciation of art and beauty. I feel that being of Azeri background has certainly helped me appreciate how diverse, vast and colourful the Muslim world actually is."!

I think it's fair to say he's got enough link to Azerbaijan to represent them. He's in

Right before I go to bed

There's someone who drew a country they've drawn loads of times and they are willing to take the risk of giving it away and swapping it with someone else who wants to swap one of theirs.

I've told them they could end up with literally any country and they're still happy to offer it for swap.

I've got no problem with it but if any of you lot have I'll keep things as they are. Any opinions?

I'd say allow them! They won't know what they're getting, nor will the player giving up their country...

I'm not interested in swapping but no probs if anyone else wants to. I know what it's like getting Czech / Slovakia seven times.

(Unless they are giving away Sweden...are they giving away Sweden?)

Okay seen as the general opinion is okay I'll do it.

To make it fair I'll post at a random point in the next few days with the magic words that you can swap NOW and the first one to send a PM gets to exchange their country

I've created the playlists so if people want to bookmark these, go ahead:

Semi Final 1 - http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list...eature=mh_lolz

Semi Final 2 - http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list...eature=mh_lolz

After some speculation as to why no one had ever selected this artist at the end of the last contest - someone has selected them! Romania have chosen Claudia Pavel as their representative and she'll be taking her song "Don't Miss Missing You" with her to Stavanger.
