I will say around 250-300k for MDNA. Also, Hard Candy sold around 280k opening week.

What do you think do these sales sound right around right or not?

Hard Candy was riding high off the back of a huge number 1 single.

She hasn't got that here so I am honestly unable to guess.

I'd say 250k. Superbowl would have got her all the way to 350k if she had a good, radio friendly and well promoted single out right now, but she doesn't. I just hope she doesn't sell under 200k because that would be embarassing and not only for her standards.

I was disappointed in madge with GMAYL and of the album sells between 100K-190k it'll be a disappointment

Its currently number 1 on USA Itunes (infact she has just set a new world record as MDNA is number 1 on every itunes chart). Only took a few hours to get there. So my prediction now goes up.

It's not No.1 on I-Tunes Ireland or Germany.

Album sales have collapsed so much in The States that I think she'll be doing well to sell 200,000.

As for the U.K. I'm hoping it will hit the 100,000 mark but I think it will fall short.

I reckon she'll do well in the UK, she had several days at no1 in the iTunes chart in February for the pre-release which will add to the sales.

also Masterpiece is getting good airplay on Radio2, who's listeners are a key market for album sales.

I disagree. She's MADONNA!! She can't sell as much as Katy Perry!! Besides, Madonna had Superbowl this year, which is MAJOR exposure and she has 2 singles out (despite the lack of success), so anything under 200k would be considered a disappointment

i dont think she isnt doing any promotion really for this album. but if i last saw the itunes charts Lionel Richie is giving her competition. because its been back and forth between him leading and her leading. if he does promotion then what if madge debuts at no.2? it'll be a shock if madge doesnt debut at no.1?

I don't know about America, but MDNA sold around 33,000 in the UK yesterday (but i think it includes the iTunes pre-sales too). That's pretty much on par with HC first day sales in 2008. The album at #2 sold just under 7,000.

HC eventually sold around 95,000 first week. I think MDNA will reach about 80k by Sunday.

I read somewhere that a general rule of thumb is to multiply the first day sales by 3 and you usually get the first week sales by that. Of course, that's not guaranteed but I think she'll hit at least 90,000

Just FB and Twitter chats really, no tv interviews or performances and ageist radio shows aren't playing her records really

Well Madonna is pretty much in the same boat as Britney last year in the minimal promotion area so if Britney can sell 275,000 with two hit singles for her album I can see Madonna doing the same as well, she's Madonna.
