Great sales, i mean considering the lack of promo with performances thats brilliant.

I think a lot of us are comparing Madonna's album successes NOW with her peak sales of 15 years ago. She will never sell loads like that again but I expect total MDNA sales to be round about 5 and a half to 6 million copies worldwide. Still pretty impressive for a woman who is 30 years into her career. While she's getting No1 albums, regardless of sales, she will always remain relevant.

i still think that is pretty unrealistic, considering the lack of a huge lead single and there being no proper promotional campaign. of course, i want to her succeed, but i just cant see her achieving those kind of results.

i still hope you are right though, all the same.

Having a huge single doesn't normally harm an album depending on the artist

It seems you have hit singles and just have your album sell a few million or have your singles kinda do well but have the album explode even better.

this is madonna though, she usually has a successful lead single and a strong promotional campaign. the time around she has neither in place and i will be honest and say its worrying.

i found the article and read what forbes had to say about it. i don't know what to believe, reading these articles.

however, i think strong cd sales may give her the edge over digital sales this week. that`s what i am hoping anyway.

Apparently HitDoubleDaily always accurate over there, the pre orders following Super Bowl would be pretty big so I imagine it's true. In total though I think the album will sell 3 million

Gone are the days where she can shift 10's of millions. Without major radio support and very limited promo I think that is really good. She'll get a number one in most countries and will break records along the way and will have another (hopefully) record breaking world tour so all in all it will be a really good era. She's 30 years in a career and that's a huge achievement in itself. Gaga will have well burnt herself out by then as will most of the current pop princesses

Gone are the days when all artists can shift 10's of millions Selling 3-4 million worldwide is considered a big success, even though, in all honesty, I highly doubt she can surpass 2,5 million sold ww if the next single releases are as poorly thought and poorly promoted as the first 2 singles...

I'll go for 3million and anything more will be a big bonus. What Adele has done this year is a freak and won't be repeated for a very very long time

I think Madonna can definitely exceed expectations. OK, 'MDNA' won't be anything like the monster that was 'COAD' on the charts, but IF she plays her cards right, she can hit the 4 million mark. All she needs is 2 great single choices and a 3-week promo tour on US TV networks and worldwide...She's MADONNA, so if people know the album is out ( some people don't yet ), they'll give 'MDNA' a chance

A Gang Bang release with a Tarantino video would be a good start. I can't see a promo tour happening at all though because of the tour. Although the tour itself will be decent promo. I can't begin to tell you how many people go to her shows not knowing the latest songs and just want to hear the golden oldies. If she performs the MDNA songs well, which she will, then that will shift some copies
