I guess they just like frenzy after frenzy after frenzy - keeping the tension throughout each storyline to the next... but they could easily phase it as you say... I often wonder how many scenes get filmed and then dropped. I know they take time/money to do so I'm sure they don't drop stuff on a whim but it does sometimes feel like they skip some pretty important bits.
Maybe they don't think they're as important because they're maybe not as exciting/headline grabbing... but I agree it's the aftermath of stuff like this that can be the most interesting.

See I'm not a massive fan of men calling you baby (or vice versa actually) but when Peter/Carla say it I go all "awww" lol.
I think my fave is when he calls her sweetheart because it always makes me think of that scene in her flat after her overdose when he's cradling her and begging her to stay <3

Well she phoned for both the ambulance and the police - I suppose maybe we're supposed to think she went to the station with Anne - because Kevin will have gone to the hospital with Sally... but seriously, that was enough of a cut to at least need covering up to lower risk of infection. Surely she'd have at least been told to get it checked over...
I'm still anxious about Carla/Simon scenes... but he did seem to warm to her a little (the spag bol. hand shake and jokes about her cooking ability with his dad)... Having read an article in one of the new mags seems like Leanne's possibly going to be badmouthing Carla when Simon's with her - fair enough she's peeved but she shouldn't be encouraging Simon.

I really can't buy into Sunita/Karl at all... but part of me is glad Stella will have to deal with her own business rather than interfering in everyone else's for once.

I think mostly financial, and partly to get rid of every last trace of Frank ever being there perhaps... She may not be best mates with Sally but she certainly found it in her heart to forgive her (understanding how manipulative Frank can be) and she maybe wants a female business partner seeing as she has AWFUL luck with male partners... (although I really wanted it to be Michelle)
She maybe only sees it as temporary... perhaps planning on buying Sally's share back at some point - although whether or not Sally will be privvy to that is anyone's guess... but I'm just speculating really.

How about if Peter sells the bookies and buys the 40%??

And when he drags her out the pub and insists she's going home? I think it was after Tommy tried to flirt with her and he found her drinking... and she falls off her shoes outside and he sort of pulls her along.
They could have done so much more with that aspect of the relationship... but I guess they couldn't push it too far or Carla maybe wouldn't have tried to make things work (agree to marry him).
A little off the point - but I loved when the factory girls got that cake and wanted them to cut it and Frank tells Carla not to cut them in half - just that whole awkwardness because it was so obvious she didn't want to marry him from the get go.


I was thinking the same thing post-rape... about her basically neglecting herself (when Maria was saying how she just didn't do anything or something)... but I didn't think I could do it justice, so it similarly got abandoned.

I know, Karl and Sunia is so rushed, and just not Peter/Carla! I'm not sure of what I think of Karl and Sunita and can never make up my mind about whether I like Sunita, but they definitely need to stay out of the alley. I also loved that bins line, though is it bad that a tiny bit of me wished Peter had said yes?!


These were really creepy and horrible, but I was actually relieved when Frank went all creepy because I had been wondering if Corrie had just forgotten he was a potential rapist and turned him into a nice guy (the way that other soaps sometimes do with characters)

No, I have been spared that fate! I think Kylie's okay. but don't like her enough to pay loads of money to watch a dot on stage from half a mile away, which have done in the past. Ok so I said I wouldn't come back on here until I got home, but that before I heard about Darren. Oh my gosh, SO excited about this! I've been dying to see him for years so this is brilliant news. It also means we'll probably find out a lot more about Carla's past which is just amazing news. The only thing I'm a bit worried about is the way they've basically said he'll be a womanizer. I'm just worried they'll make him into another soap stereotype and completely ruin him and all the ideas we've all had about him/Carla's family in general. But I have faith in the writers that they won't, at least not initially. In a way, I'd almost prefer it if he was only in a few episodes, or for a month or so, rather than becoming a regular. I just don't get how they could realistically bring him in and keep him there - I mean last we heard he and Carla clearly didn't get on, and I don't know why he'd be helping her run the factory as they suggested. But then I'm never happy so. I'm also a bit worried that they've said he hasn't been named. He has, it's Darren! If they give him a different name, or 'forget' that he did 8 years for armed robbery I will not be pleased.

I wonder if Darren being brought in will have something to do with the custody battle somehow? I can't see how it would do much good if it came about him being an ex-con and everything... I'm overthinking this way too much.

Anyway, I wonder if Carla will hear Simon's black widow comment? (Which will, by the way, have me screaming and thumping the TV and campaigning for his slaughter.) From the spoilers it suggests not. I doubt Peter will want to mention it, but she'll no doubt wonder why he's suddenly changed his mind about Leanne seeing Simon.

Oh, and I didn't get tickets for the BSA I'm so unbelievably gutted about this as I was really looking forward to going. But I just keep telling myself they'll be other chances and trying to forget about it!
