Urggghhh, I say Peter can keep the suits but we burn everything else. I likes a man in a suit I can cope with a couple of his tshirt/jeans combos but a lot of the time they make his beer gut look soooo bad, and he's too old to be wearing weird slogan tshirts like he does occasionally. and i like the idea of the leather jacket but he definatly needs a new less skanky one.

Right, so first of all, hats of to Kylie and her crew for putting together such a beautiful and special show for the fans - it was really really good.

So I arrived between 8.30 to 9.30, and was number 24 in the line (we were numbered by a fan).

I ended up talking to a group of about 8 people around me, two really nice girls, three guys who were together, another nice guy called Danielle who lived round the corner and two ladies who I'd queued with last year at Les Folies who were really lovely. They were a really nice group of people and made queueing a lot more fun!

There was a slight issue with the numbering system as one person seemed to jump the queue when he'd arrived a good hour/ two hours after a lot of people, we just thought it was a little unfair on those who had queued before him, I don't really know how it all ended up but there was a little kerfuffle with that!

The first 70 people were wristbanded, but I think it was unofficial, organized by a fan who had liased with the crew. It was meant to be that the first 70 would be called individually through into the venue (but this didn't end up happening and Ill talk about that in a bit)

We heard talks that Kylie might sign things for the first 46 people like she had done in Manchester, but at something like 3.00pm a few people started lining up at a separate barrier and then so did I, we waited for about 2 hours, Kylie did drive through, but she didn't come out to sign things, a shame but we can't expect her too!

I met a wonderful lady called Meg who was waiting for Kylie as she's organized this fantastic charity project where she auctions 100 things of to raise money for I think it was children with cancer, I saw her waiting behind after the show so I hope she managed to get what she wanted signed.

Anyway, when we were let in, it was chaos. There were 3 doors and people just rushed to them, everyone was squashed up so the crew got a bit annoyed to cut to the chase when I got in I was about third row - now still a good view, and I'm grateful I got that close (no point moaning about it now) but considering I came so early, and my number should have meant I would be front row, and I expected them to let us in more orderly, I was a bit miffed as I saw loads of people who hadn't come as early in front of me and I was praying to get to the barrier as I'm suffering from a trapped nerve which KILLS when I stand, so yeah, bit annoyed but at least I got to see her.

Yeah, so waited about two hours inside the venue for her to come on, separated from the people I was with but ended up talking to four lovely people, a lady on here called something like InYourEyes (can't remember it is exactly, sorry!), KMAir who has insame Kylie knowledge and another lovely man (I'm sorry I can't remember your name!).

The whole show was brilliant, but the downside was the venue was ridiculously hot, like I've never been that hot, I thought I was going to faint about three times, along with that my back hurt so badly, usually when Kylie comes on I don't think about it but this time I found it hard to ignore

Anyway, Kylie was lovely, chatty, humorous, sweet, and seemed to really connect with the audience.

The setlist was great, and her voice was incredible, anyone who doubts her vocal ability should have heard her last night.

I was disappointed she didn't sing 'I Know', it is honestly a dream for me to hear it properly live, but you can't have everything.

'Give Me Just A Little More Time' was a lovely addition, very upbeat and bless Kylie had to read the lyrics and kept forgetting them, but it didn't matter and we all sang along with her.

Off the top of my head, 'The One' and 'Bittersweet Goodbye' were vocal highlights, the whole show was but those are the ones I can think of.

All in all a wonderful show, do think the tickets were very expensive, and wish my painkillers had worked, but Kylie as usual shined and I met some lovely people.

Glad you had a good time at Kylie! and thankyou for your review, was good to read.
Agree Kylie is always unneccesarily called for not being able to sing, sh's a good singer and she always seems so lovely and fun on stage, can see why you've been back to watch her so many times.
Sorry about your back pain! I get something that sounds very similar when standing up for too long, it's horrible isn't it :/

I was researching t-shirts! Probably I'm in the minority here as I don't actually mind the leather jacket either. Well I didn't on the 8th Dec episode, but more research may be needed to confirm my views. But kitkat I wouldn't want to spoiler your enjoyment if you want to go and dress Peter!

I'm no good at initiating a conversation, but if people speak to me I'll speak to them back. Queuing can be fun. Have never been to a concert by myself but have been to a book festival, the cinema, and to protest-the-pope, which I went to because I genuinely felt strongly, but it was fun too.

Easter bank holiday is confusing me. I keep thinking today must be Thursday and that Corrie is on, then get all disappointed when I realise I'm wrong.

Oh and random comment, I love how people on this thread is friendly/relaxed enough to go off topic, and not just talk about Peter and Carla. Though obviously they are an important subject matter.

I've just got home from manc. town (aka manchester to any of you none local-yokals) ......anihu, so i thought i'd come on here and say hi since twittie/fb is quite dead and i cba going to bed yet and it makes me laugh how some of you lot seem to enjoy/comment on previous similar barlowed (oh yes i went there) posts of mine and enjoy them.

my first point has got to be....is it me or is ff.net really f"cked up today? it keeps saying a story has three chapters when it only has 2 and not loading stuff etc...... plus there is some baaadd shit on there which i can cinfidently say comes from none of you lot, but that thing seriously needs some quality control, I'll read any shite but even i can't cope with some of the stories on there atm.

and is there going to be any carla and/or peter in tonights episode??? I am starting to get serious withdrawl symtpons withe them not being around for sooo long....i know they're in sometime this week but are we goint to have to wait anouther blloming day!?!?!? it's not faiiirrrr!

I don't hate the leather jacket, or him in a leather jacket at all, it's just because it's... well there's the grubby, rough look that looks quite attractive and there's looking like a tramp, and tbh when he wears that jacket he toes the line And I hate that t-shirt he always seems to wear with it... I can't remember what it says, some slogan in Spanish or something? Urgh.
I do have to admit to rather liking him in a suit though.

I love your drunk posts! I went out with my boyfriend and my parents last night for a drink and a curry, and saw my Dad hammered for maybe the second time in my life. It was a great night! Was wrapped up in bed by 12 though, the boring old fart I am.

Yay for Ali, Chris and Andrew making the short list, but tbh I'm worried for all three of them. I don't know if Chris quite has the fan base to beat some of the others, Jo Joyner won the AAS awards a few weeks back and is ridiculously popular, and the Silas storyline in HO beat Frank which, whilst I was surprised it was so popular, I have to admit was a really good SL and if it hadn't up against the rape etc I'd have voted for it as well. So I'm not getting my hopes up too much, but will obviously vote like mad anyway.

I'm surprised Jane Danson didn't make the shortlist, actually. Although I suppose a lot of the Corrie votes went to Ali, and they were kind of involved in the same SL as well so. There just seems to be a lot more Leanne love around than Carla love atm, and that often seems to translate to the actors. If that makes any sense?

Yep. I think it will be between Jo and Ali to be honest. I think in some ways Ali could've won the NTA if Kat Kelly hadn't been against her, but then Jo Joyner wasn't up for that, so it's not really a good comparism.

I just keep getting haunted by that memory of the scattered applause for Ali at the NTAs, which is spurring me on even more to vote for her now

Yey for them getting shortlisted!!! I'd completely forgotten it was being announced before i went on twitter. Agree Ali may struggle against Jo Joyner and I'm inclined to think that Chris has no chance against Danny Miller but you never know. I do think they've got a good chance for best SL and dramatic performance since they're panel voted.

The thing about being uncomfortable is maybe just to do with doubting herself being capable, not wanting to let Peter down but really feeling like she's going to muck it up or something.

Yeah I'm excited but worried too... I want it to be Darren - but not if they make him a complete idiot that contradicts how most of us sort of think he would be with Carla... like I want him to be protective in a brotherly way but I don't want him to be the brother that was an arse to her at their mum's funeral.

I was paying more attention to the flat (after glaring at the cardi-thing) and I love how she's totally putting her mark on the place. The couch looks better and maybe a little more feminine, and then there's the lovely flowers that just scream Carla.
The place looks like it's had a bit of a tidy, and there's the ornaments and candle holders on the unit like she's trying to make the best of the place and make it a bit more... classier. That may not be the right word but she's working with what she's got =)

I would like to keep a few items for myself though. And I’d like some cake, haven’t eaten yet today. Carrot cake would work.

I'm the same though - I'll read just about anything and if I'm feeling particularly good-natured leave constructive criticism if I don't necessarily like a story but sometimes I try to help then you see another story from the same author and they haven't even taken your advice, and maybe I'm being fussy but I just think if you like to write you'd want to take advice on board and try and improve

Thanks - thought everyone had forgotten about that one but I really enjoyed writing the Ken and Peter arguments. Great to get Carla and Peter back though shame so brief. Was distracted by the need to check out Peter's outfit and form an opinion (which was that it was okay). Carla seemed to be radiating tension throughout, but she was still lovely to Peter and loved the line about him accepting that she was right and his little smirk. Thought Peter with Leanne was a bit annoying. Can understand his anger but he came across as kind of smug. And how can Leanne claim she would never leave Simon like Peter had done when she did exactly that after the dark night of the soul.

Still can't sleep so have got the laptop out, but is very frustrating as very tired and have visitors coming after lunch, and they're staying the night, so bound to sleep badly again as always sleep worse when have guests, as I feel less able to roam about with insomnia, and doing nothing but attempt to sleep just makes it all worse, and now I'm rambling. Yeah, I have been having problems with ff. Also agree re quality of some fics. I feel really rude being judgemental, and am also very self-critical, but yes when you see one person has just posted 5 one-shots in one go and from just the descriptions they all sound rubbish, then yes. I checked one just to confirm my suspisions then didn't bother with the rest.

It was homemade by a colleague and was yummy. Have also tried a baileys ice-cream which I thought was nice. Well I won't be able to resist eating lots of cake, but will probably then feel sick. Am quite hungry now though, being awake in the night does that. Being awake in the night is generally a pain.

Thanks for this It totally crashed my laptop, but worked on my phone. I only found 3 vids, are there more? It was funny, and entertaining, liked the brulee torch thing! Weird seeing clips of Ali with a posh accent. I know she doesn't really speak like Carla, but from what I've heard of her she's not as posh as this either (?)
