Bit annoyed that Coldplay's "Charlie Brown" hasn't reached the UKTOP10 yet!?

Its absolutely astonishing that such a remarkable song hasn't reached the respectable 10 placing or above. Could it be because of so many album sales of Mylo Xyloto and people have the single and can't afford to buy it individually? Or maybe it's the current price (26 March) of £0.99?

Any Ideas? *_*

Fans of Coldplay buy the album. They don't have Katy Perry fans who would buy every single, pointlessly.

Very true indeed and also Coldplay generate alot more revenue from one album but then one single buy but still want charlie brown to reach the top 10,with some good marketing and a slight promotion (price decrease) Mylo Xyloto could produce 3 top ten hits, after ETIAW & Paradise- Charlie Brown would complete the desired trio and give coldplay a singles hatrick from one album.

I suppose but as a Coldplay fan, singles are never my concern. I am only bothered about the quality of their albums, which singles they pick and how they fare don't bother me.

I think if you buy the album there is no way you are going to download the single again maybe if you are a big fan you would?

I'm a big fan but buying a song you already own is just silly.

I'm not a huge Coldplay fan but was always under the impression the were more an album artist anyway

It has sold well, and more importantly driven sales of the album.

if they wanted a hit they'd have released Princess Of China after Paradise.

Coldplay's album has sold 1,082,300 and Katy Perry's album has sold 980,000.

They are. Talk of singles is unimportant.

charlie brown is one of my favourite coldplay songs! i liked the scientist and yellow but was never really a massive fan and didnt own all the albums but i do now and i cant believe i was stupid enough to have a ridiculous hatred for them without having a reason instead of just listening to their music, which is great!

Best song on the album in my opinion. Sounds incredible live.

Sorry, but firstly imho, it is only ok, and secondly of COURSE it is because all Coldplay fans have the album and dont need to buy the single. The idea that someone would buy the same thing twice seems really ridiculous to me. In the past I would have bought, say, a 12" version of a single from an album I had, but these days it just seem you get the single from the album and that is it. Sad times.

Princess Of China will do better because Rihanna's fanbase will buy it too.

Maybe if they put some decent 'b' sides on it. Do they still call them b sides or are they just bonus tracks now???????

Look at Kylie Minogue with the Aphrodite album fantastic songs on that album, All The Lovers did really well but the other singles Get Outta My Way, Better Than Today and Put Your Hands Up did nothing in the charts

Haven't a lot of people already cherry-picked it though? It's definitely charted in the Top 40 before.

Singles were never supposed to be synonymous with tracks.

Downloads have messed everything up.

This was clearly stated before, no need to reiterate the fact.

Personally, I think you shouldn't be allowed to buy individual tracks - either the album or the single release.
