It would help if you were to specify the make and model of both devices and what connectors they have on them.

It is totally impossible to answer the question without those details as there is no standard means of connecting a laptop to a TV. In some instances it is impossible to do so without buying external converter boxes if the two devices have completely incompatible connections.

OK it seems your telly and mine share a manual! And apart from the number of HDMI ports the back panel is very similar as well.

The Acer laptop only has VGA and S-video out according to the specs on the Acer website (one hopes they know what they are talking about ). Fortunately your telly, as with mine, has VGA in. Though for reasons best known to LG they call it "RGB IN (PC)" (well I suppose VGA is RGB).

So what you need is a VGA to VGA lead to connect the video. If you need audio as well then you will need a 3.5mm stereo jack to 3.5mm stereo jack lead from the headphones socket on the laptop to the "AUDIO IN (RGB/DVI)" socket on the TV.

For example

http://cpc.farnell.com/bandridge/ba-...-2m/dp/AV17048

Other lengths and makes of cable are available. Those are just examples of the type of lead you require.
