Hubby just fried some chicken pieces, they were all white all the way through but I thought they were a bit moist and sort of rubbery in texture which has made me worry they weren't cooked properly, but the guideline is that if it's white it's cooked isn't it? So it should be fine?

Should be ok....maybe he's just a crap cook? Di'd you defrost in the microwave, cos that makes chicken rubbery.

Was it bog-standard fillets or the pricier corn-fed or free-range stuff? There is a difference.
Or, it might have been overcooked.

I was in a Chinese restaurant and said "This chicken is rubbery."
The waiter said "Ah, thank you very much!"

This is why I no longer eat chicken, can't stand the texture of it.

So it's not unusual, and the fact it was white means it was properly cooked?

I'd say if it was white then its cooked, and it should be moist. Not rubbery though.

If you haven't been sitting on the loo since you ate them, they were cooked

You'll either be fine, in casualty or dead.

Let us know in the morning which one it is.

I seriously hate threads like this! If you are that worried then ring NHS Direct FFS!

Dont trust idiots on the internet to say if your going to die from food poisioning!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure NHS Direct would love to receive calls from worried chicken eaters

Are you still ok?

I've eaten completely undercooked chicken on a few occasions and never been ill.

You were worried partly because they were a bit moist? I'd be complaining if it wasn't moist!

Forget the colour of the flesh, the best way to tell if it is cooked assuming you don't have a thermometer handy is to check that the juices have turned clear.

I over cook chicken so it's often dry, I'd rather that than worry they are undercooked! I know, I'm a heathen .

I am fine this morning so I was evidently worrying about nothing as usual!
