Still getting shitty slow download speed. Beeing trying to re-download Ghost of Sparta since late Saturday night. Only 49% complete so far. Internet Settings Test on PS3 indicates I should be getting 20MB/s download. Well thats clearly not the case watching the status of the download. I'd guess its downloading 1MB every ten seconds.

Its a joke so in theory if you have brought a Playstation Plus membership for 3 months or a year are being short changed because they are not giving you the correct download speed. As i said yesterday i done in a Connection test through Network Settings and i was getting 10 MB. When i went to download a demo which was 420 MB it took me over 40 mins. Clearly there servers cannot cope due to people purchasing memberships.

I downloaded "Resident Evil 4 and Code X" and it took around an hour to do. Slow as hell.

I downloaded 11games from the PS+ offer on Saturday night, the installs took longer than most downloads.

I have no speed problems with the PSN but my mate who lives 200meters away from me does. I downloaded the Uncharted 3 patch on Saturday night after the PSN came back up in minutes, my mate downloaded it last night and it took him an hour.

I have never experience slow PSN downloads, he always experiences them when thread like these appear with large numbers of people complaining about speed. The PSN speed problem seems a weird one as it doesn't effect everyone.

BTW we both have Virgin and are both on the SuperHub, he is on one speed tier lower than me.

I downloaded all those new free PSN+ games over 2 evenings. I think it was about 52Gb in total. My PS3 is wired on an Infinity connection that tops out at 41.5Mbps down. I was quite happy with the speed but I agree that PSN doesn't give up its data at full speed. Sony could do with adding more oomph to it.

It must be the Three 3g network playing up.

It is letting me on DS but lots of other sites just timeout.

Sigh...

Some people are reporting problems logging into PSN and the store. Sony engineers (think they should employ some new ones) are looking into and hope to have full service soon.

I'm singed in fine - but these issues are becoming quite too frequent.

Just tried to sign in here and it's asking for to change my password as my current one is invalid. Why would that happen? When I go to the next page it says undergoing maintenance.

Managed to get back in about 6pm. I've just been playing MW3 for the last 2 and a half hours without lag, but just started to get laggy.

Just because It's free does not excuse It being like this. The money that developers pay, £40.000 to just put update on PSN for example. No doubt putting other things on the store, cost developers more. goes towards network maintenance and other added cost. Developers in turn get that money from the paying customer. So your already paying for PSN when you buy a game.

Thought it was 40k dollars?

Anyway - it is quite obvious. Sony is sabotaging Activision for Microsoft renewing the COD exclusivity deal.

Last Thursday the new content came out and PSN broke and the PS Store broke.

This Thursday the collection is out and PSN broke and the PS Store is still down.

FWIW, no issues with PSN here - but cannot access the store.

I'd like to know how much an emergency TU is. I'd imagine they charge more for these.

They need to separate the downloading side from the game playing side.
