Two potential fairly big characters gone already

A bit worrying two weeks in, a lot of blandness to get through yet

Yeah, great point you make. Never realized that. In the past they tend to keep the most 'vocal' candidates to about mid series.

I'm sure they'll be some arguments and backstabbing. You need a bit of that to keep the show interesting.

I genuinely thought Maria was a long-term candidate. Clearly not a winner, but I thought she'd be like a Jadine who is kept on for longer than she probably should because she has a big personality.

It was clear from the intro last week that Maria would be fired early on.

So, no surprise for me.

She would make a good BB contestant maybe she went through the wrong door at auditions

I don't think Lord Sugar will be hiring a woman this year as he seems to have had trouble with all the 3 past female winners.
Michelle left shortly after a series of personal problems, Yasmina went on long maternity leave before quitting and Stella is currently suing him for constructive dismissal.

Thats a good point and amazingly enough we have probably the worst bunch of females to date, coincidence or what

What like sleeping in the car? Drugs Actually that's a fair assessment she was giggle central on YF, unless that was drugs

He won't really be 'hiring' any of them; this is about a business partnership, not a job. (and, frankly, most of the Apprentice jobs sounded pretty rubbish aside from the £100k salary, and that only lasted a year. I'd have quit in a heartbeat.) If one of the women offers a business opportunity like Tom's Stylfile, I think he'll take it.

I think you are mistaking noisey for having a 'big' personality. There is a difference. I thought she was just really immature with zero sense of humour and sub zero charm.

I said that last night, Bilyana (can't spell it sorry) was rubbish on the first task bit didn't deserve to go and Maria wasn't necessarily rubbish but lost her place to nail grating Jenna. I am surprised at Lord Sugar as he usually ousts the boring ones first and I suppose that's why he kept Katie in week 1 as she could be fiery. I agree though he has lost 2 characters and lol she does look like Amy Winehouse

What I like about The Apprentice is that candidates who may seem non-existent in one show could be central to the following one. There's still just as much chance of some good blow-ups.

For example, Gabrielle was unheard from this week. But we already know that she can argue well, going off her boardroom defence in Week 1. Or Paloma a couple of years ago. She seemed friendly in the early couple of weeks, turned out to be one of the more crafty candidates.

I won't count anyone out on that just yet.

Totally agree with this, the girl was as charmless as it comes.

All 3 of the final 3 deserved to go this week - Jane because she was a rubbish PM, Jenna for the costing cock up (and swaying Jane to go with the Splish Splash) and Maria for being invisible.

I don't know why they all have it in for Katie this week - she put herself forward as PM, seemed to lead the sub team, came up with the product that the focus group preferred, and was trying to get them on track - but they wouldn't listen to her (the harry M of the grown up Apprentice)... then Jenna and Jane had the cheek to say that she had done nothing except bitch and be negative.....

Mind you the two facedness Katie displayed when jane returned to the house was astounding.... one minute saying Jane needed to go - the next hugging her to the rolling eyes of the lads!

In my experience, except where women are high-flying, they spend most of their time bitching and keeping in with their mates. The early ones are going really because their business ideas are no good - Maria would only be opening more restaurants, which is just chucking money away in the current climate. I have no idea what Bilyana was suggesting, but as a risk analyst, she has no entrepreneurial ability. Katie will go soon as she is just a PR girl with (heh) a 1st in Sociology from Portsmouth.

Must be great working with you, Dave!

Totally agree with this.
Katie had me on her side (and I thought they really picked on her in the boardroom too) but then came the welcome hug after slagging Jane off and she was all over her!
I can only put this down to the reaction of someone who has survived the boardroom (a sort of camaraderie) and knows how others might feel
Still, very disappointed with her.

Mind you, if you think Lord Sugar has already got her in his sights (for firing) then the more ambitious candidates may well try to take her in to the boardroom to deflect any mistakes they have personally made. It's been done before, successfully I think.

She just explained to everybody why she thought that Jane might be fired (which is something different from Jane exclaiming that KATIE HAS TO BE FIRED in front of the camera, the same Jane who excepted Katie's hug on her return to the house).

True!

And if my eyes didn't deceive me, both Jane and Jenna ignored Maria on their way out of the boardroom.
Not a very nice thing to do. imo

Maria had no personality at all on You're Fired.
Monkseal

Maria didn't really have a personality at all beyond shouting truisms ("WE NEED TO SELL!" "THEY NEED TO LIKE OUR PRODUCT!"). It didn't seem like the other women ever paid attention to her or considered her as a serious proposition. There's only so long you can keep someone like that in the cast.

Katie has far more personality and has, along with Jane, been set up as the major character on the girls team, at least for the first month or so. There was no way she was getting fired this early.
