I'm really not sure what I've thought about this series. I thought the most recent episode was the weakest yet.
That said I love Leo so pleased to see him feature more heavily and get rid of the desperately annoying Janet. I wonder if there's an opening for a love interest.....

I think that what it was all about was the two different viewpoints of the Church and the Scientists. The Church veered towards possession and the scientists madness.
The grandmother killed herself because she was either possessed or mad. The Psychiatrist was veering towards madness by treating the boy for possession which is what the child would believe and it was the only way he could rid him of his "demons". The trouble is this really did turn the psychiatrist mad - he was borderline and in order to stop the "demons" repossessing another child he killed them along with himself. This is what I think he believed. The question was open - was the girl clairvoyant i.e. sensing illness and nun's baby. Why did her hands twist - was it all in her mind.We will not know. Leo always wanted answers but sometimes there just weren't any and he could not accept it. Personally Leo has become a right pain in the a"se with his cold personality and persistent questioning. Not enough of the other two characters and rather boring unfortunately. Looking forward to Budapest episode again. |

It looks as though the jury is out in Liverpool on the trial of Asian men grooming / sexually exploiting young white women so maybe we'll see the scheduled episode that touched on a similar subject - assuming a verdict is reached? Or maybe it's still too much of a hot potato and we'll have to wait until the heat has gone off?

The postponed episode is on ITunes if you're curious.
It's very dark, but very good. Reminded me of the one with the gangs and Leo being on community service (a few series ago now...) |

Bloodlines is one of my favourite SIlent Witness episodes ever.
Yes it got slightly ridiculous with Harry becoming Jason Bourne overnight but the storyline was fantastic and gripping. In a way it was also the "experimental" episode of that series, much like 'Fear' was last night but Bloodlines was ten times better. |

According to Wikipedia,it's been re-scheduled for 2013 (?) along with a story called 'Changes' to follow that one. Hopefully Wikipedia have got it wrong and 'Then I fell In Love' will be shown later this year instead of waiting until early next year for the next series. |

The girl's apparent clairvoyance was never really explained, nor was the psychiatrist's role in events clear. He was clearly at least pretending at the end to believe that the boy was possessed, but given his suicide, he would appear to have gone well beyond pretence. I think the ending was at least unclear, and I don't like that. I like Silent Witness, but this story was a misfire for me. |

Have only just recovered myself sufficiently to come one here to say WHAT A BIG PILE OF POO that last installment.
Creepy house, possessions, screeching, whimpering, screaming, crying, more screaming, more wailing. Hell's Teeth but that was rubbish. I'm quite annoyed at how ridiculous it all was. |

Have to agree, awful episode. I'm all for pushing boundaries etc, but this was truly pathetic. I've always felt that the team go way beyond the call of duty, but this!
Would be really good to have nice straightforward episode, someone dies, they find the evidence and then follow it through withthe help of the police. Rather than Leo just going off on his one man crusades, they seem to have run dry with sensible plots for him, really think its time he moved on/out! |

Quite surprised this series ended without a jaunt to South Africa though, must be those budget cuts.

I think there should be an episode where someone dies and neither the dead person or the alleged killer is a friend of one of the pathologists.

To whoever has been in charge of this series of Silent Witness - you are clearly wasted on this drama, please look for other opportunities to show off your talent. |
