Now obviously the dodgy takeaway ones filled with grease are going to be, but what about when they're properly made. Like the thin Italian style ones, I mean, it's not always been takeaway food has it?

Pizza is very healthy when you make it yourself. It has protein, lycopene and calcium.

I make a lot of homemade pizza and with all the fresh veggies, tomato sauce I would say it is good for you in moderation. Obviously you have the base, but I usually do mine thin. Cheese is good for you in moderation too.

Saying this, i wouldn't recommend if on a diet lol

Thanks for the link purple. As I said, I would say homemade thin base pizza is good for you in moderation (one a month), the girl in the link ate nothing BUT pizza for 8 years.

Homemade pizza is so much nicer than ANY takeaway, Dominos is greasy and nasty, and so expensive, how can this girl afford one a day let alone 3

I hate boring people who bang on about home made stuff. Yes it's healthier but sometimes it's FUN to eat unhealthy things, isn't it?

Plus going out to eat is more than just the food, isn't it? I've a friend who whenever I suggest 'let's meet for lunch, a curry or something' always bangs on about 'home made' stuff so I end up going to his while he good some comparatively bland concoction and we drink water and have a quiet chat and leave before 2pm.

Takeaway food is an occasion. Few mates, few beers, watch a movie etc.

Besides, no offense, but in my experience people who make stuff home made and claim it's 'better' than ordering it in, are usually just deluding themselves but guests are often too polite to say 'Actually, it was a bit dull, we should have ordered an Indian'

I wouldn't know. I have tried an Iranian once, but that was many years ago.

Can one dish be unhealthy? Surely it's a diet that would be unhealthy not a single constitute of it?

Depends how good at cooking you are I suppose.

Plus last time I had a Dominos it was £5.99 for a large pizza, I dont call that expensive.

The plain cheese n tomato one is £12.99 for a large and most of the rest are £15-£16 for a large....

Is Pizza unhealthy?

Not really if eaten once a week and accompanied by a salad. lndeed, some of the toppings consisting of multiple vegetables would be on the good side. However, as with most things, moderation is required and if they're eaten every day then that's asking for problems.

She gags if she touches something else. Christ almighty. I despise these attention-seeking morons.

Making a thin-crust is far healthier than a deep-pan.

Not too bad.

Base - white flour, not great, very refined.
Tomato sauce - healthy
Cheese - Healthy

Plus herbs are very healthy and any healthy toppings.

Its probably more healthy than a slice of toast.

Cheese is high in saturated fat and salt, not what I would call 'healthy'. Delicious, yes, healthy - no, imo.
