4 Cadbury's creme eggs at the back of a drawer. I'm assuming they're from last Easter but not sure. Haven't bought any this year anyway. Will they be okay to eat do you think?

They're just loose so no box to see any date.

Yeah, go for it.

I'm sorry if you end up on the bathroom all afternoon from food poisoning. Or worse yet if you die! :-O

Creme eggs are gross. It should be okay, chocolate doesn't really "spoil" does it? It might have the bloom mould thing.

They may taste a bit nasty but you could never get sick from eating out of date chocolate

OMG I've unwrapped one and it's a silvery colour, that bloom I think. May be mould though. I hate wasting anything.

You could lick out the contents, that should be OK as it's been sealed inside the chocolate.

If the choccie is brown it will still be OK although the filling might be a little harder.

If the choccie is white - I wouldn't eat it.

The mould is safe to eat. My dad does it all the time, he's a garbage disposal.

He's still alive, by the way!

Yeah but these could be two or more years out of date. No idea when we last emptied the drawer. It's thick with dust and fluff.

Mould found in cheese & bread is a form of Penicillin which is actually good for you in small doses.
Thanks to Fleming for discovering that one !

You're so high maintenance!

I wouldn't eat GREEN mouldy bread, but I might still eat it if it's white mould... I'll just toast it and pretend it doesn't exist lol.

I wouldn't recommend palming it off on the kids, they always know when something is up with chocolate.

You have a decidedly evil streak!

Anyway, the fats in chocolate often appear on the surface due to temperature changes and cause the chocolate to appear white on the surface. The chocolate is still good to eat.

Best news - recent research indicates that eating chocolate speeds up metabolism thus aiding weight loss as long as you don't eat enough to counteract the beneficial effect. Four eggs maybe too much, give them to the munchkins

Seeing this thread just reminded me that I bought myself a Thorntons caramel egg yesterday and forgot!

I've not tried one before - I hope it's as good as it sounds. I'm just about to find out

It was yummy! I wish I'd bought two now!

Actually, I've got a weird drawn advert about a flabby belly in the top right hand corner of the screen, so maybe it's just as well I didn't!
