I must agree. I wouldn't call the Bisto instant "chip shop" curry sauce all that delicate or sophisticated, but steak cut chips dipped in it - lovely.
Reggae Reggae love apple tomato sauce too.

It was ok, but not nearly as nice as I expected it to be. Was very disappointed
I think it has changed lots since I was little, else my taste buds have.
Creamy coleslaw, gravy, curry sauce, sprinkle with paprika and dunk in mayo, chips and cheese, mushy peas, and macaroni cheese and lasagne!

O yeah, with half a roasted chicken on the side. That's what's traditionally served around Easter at my football club.
Two things that - as far as I know - you can't get any more: curry mayonnaise, and blue cheese dip (in a jar). There also used to be some good curry dips in the chiller cabinets in Sainsbury's and M&S. Wonder why they stopped making them.

Yes, I've been to Amsterdam a couple of times. Satay is indeed one of the most popular sauces.
I like aioli, but with fries I prefer Heinz roasted garlic mayo.
