4 days of coverage across two BBC channels with exactly the same pictures on both throughout. They have cameras on court one, they have commentators on court one but these matches are destined to go unseen so what’s the point?

Annoying as well to see tennis not even mentioned in the BBC Radio or TV news updates over the last couple of days. It seems as though Murray’s early exit killed any interest, or the BBC assume that no-one will be interested so they ensure that will happen by never mentioning it again while of course going to town over 11 idiots in the Ukraine.

Top job BBC - Keep up the piss-poor work.

Haha. I'm glad I can provide some happiness for at least some people

Ok, I havent been *lusting* over Stepanek. I just said he is kinda good looking. More attractive than lets say Murray or Fed.

And very happy to see Fed do well, after trouble yesterday...
Not sure if he can ever get back to #1 though. Probably need one of the other two to get injured...

He had a really good year, but still very far behind in the race

Well the BBC are saving their budget for Wimbledon and the Olympics - so they will have 3 and a half weeks of more tennis to get it right!

Its a shame BBC dropped Eastbourne coverage a few years ago - next week they have 4 out of the top 8 women in the world playing. Still its Royal Ascot week - so that takes the priority. We should just be grateful to Eurosport - for actually committing to promoting British tennis (including GB in the Davis and Fed cups).

They had a match on 5live today but yes the lack of Murray or even other big names probably reduced the interest..

Wind has made playing good tennis very difficult today.

So many televised tournaments this year have had near empty stands early in the week.

There were thousands down at Eastbourne today just for the qualifying. The free entry helped.

Wimbledon have removed Heather Watson from the wildcard list as she's now in the main draw on merit, apparently because Kaia Kanepi has withdrawn:

Well - bar the wind - Eastbourne is a nice venue with lots of room to wander about (unlike Queens). And the tickets are reasonable - £20-£27 for the first few days for centre/No1 with the finals available for £40.

While its a good 90 minute trek from London - it is a pleasant day out. And you have both a WTA and ATP event - so mens/womens singles, mens/womens doubles, veterans matches and a GB vs USA juniors team event. So plenty to see - 5 of the top 9 ranked womens players too plus Roddick Tomic and Gasquet amongst others in the mens singles!

Excuse my ignorance, but what is "Bootles"? Andy is apparently playing a couple of matches there this week. But not Eastbourne. Maybe he's protecting his back? And Tommy I love you dearly, tennis wise, and rue the day you'll retire, but you have past issues with Andy so your article on Murray Faking It reads like a bit of sour grapes.

I was at a wedding yesterday so missed Dimitrov's semi, but it's good to see he's living up to the hype, as it is with Raonic. It was so sad warching the first round loss of A-Rod and Leyton. I remember when they were the hot new kids.
They were also extremely lucky they came to prominence in 2000, 2001. I dont think either would have won a GS or become World No 1 if it'd had been 4-5 years later.

And it's Boodles!

(I have to admit that I hadn't heard of it either, though.)

As for the "Murray faking it" thing: it may be that he does have a habit of grabbing his leg or his back at times, but I find it hard to believe that such a habit is so dreadfully bewildering for his poor opponents that they just doesn't know what to do.

I've never even heard of this event before, but it seems to attract some quality names. Bad luck Fed in Haas - was wanting him to win. Just think the win would help him more mentally at the latter stages of Wimbledon.

Really surprised that Federer lost to Haas. Well done, Tommy.

My interest in Queens has dipped slightly now Dimitrov is out but he really didn't do himself justice in the semi-final. I think the weather was an issue but he kept trying to slice/float the ball over the net and it was just too windy for that tactic to work.

Anyway, final about to start.

What an idiot. You'd think an experienced player like him would be able to control his anger by now.

Never seen anything like it. I don't think they had any choice but to disqualify him.

I'd be sooo embarrassed if I was Nalbandian and had to stand there
