think it was clear to see yesterday that Murray was struggling, he was there for the taking if Nieminen kept his focus. Dont think he was pulling a Djokovic pretend to be injured/tired then make a remarkable recovery to win.

Nadal is no stranger to that tactic either...

The only other player I'd go out of my way to watch, is Marion Bartoli. I'm sure she's ever so slightly bonkers, but I find her rather cute and endearing.
It's probably online somewhere, but she gave an interview to Tennishead magazine ahead of Roland Garros. She's sweet, funny and eccentric to an extreme. Having trouble finding it online.

Georges is pretty and a fan-fave but then so was Kournikova. She may win the odd Tier I but can't see a slam in Julia's future, tbh.

Doesn't look like a slam in Aga's immediate future either.

Svetlana leads Aga 5-0. Ugh.

ITV choosing to show Aga/Svetlana. Yay.

I'm remembering some of the clay finals from 08-09 where Svetlana slayed. Just one RG crown is quite surprising when you think about it.

I know right? She does love to shop, maybe she should shop around next time she's at the salon.

A real shame as in the first couple rounds she was playing like the Ana of old. Once pressure sits in she goes back to spraying errors all over the court. Unfortunate.

Aga's finding the court a bit more now. Can see this going to three sets. Berdych is a charisma-free zone who bores in semis.

I know Kuzzy is a little zany at times, but it looks like she did this herself. Doubt a salon would have let her leave the premises like that.

Radwanska is having a terrible match so far.

do my eyes deceive me?

I've just checked the listings for Sat/Sun and ITV is showing FO on both ITV1 and ITV4 at the same times for at least 4hrs 45mins on Saturday and 6hrs 30 mins on Sunday

dare we hope that we'll get a choice of matches, never thought would happen outside of Wimbledon on free-to-air telly

My 8 year old has just asked why Aga is playing a man. Surely that's not fair she says? Had to correct her. Bless the naiviety.....I had to tell her of cos I like Sveta and hope she can win again if Maria or Li Na can't for whatever reason. Was v bummed when Marion lost as she's my favourite. But Sveta looked awesome

Don't know why but I can't summon up any enthusiasm for the men's side other than Youzhny and frankly I've as much chance of winning this tournament than him. I think it's because I figure it'll be another Nole-Nadal slug fest and the winner will take all. I adore Nadal and I kinda figure that the title is his as long as he remains fit and wants it. I hope I'm right!

Nick Mullins is rapidly becoming my most hated tennis commentator, even more than Andrew castle. He does nothing but talk s**t.

Pleased to see Svetlana win today and upset to see Ana Ivanovic lose. Maria still looking sublime, this is her tournament to lose now.

I'm not sure that anyone can realistically stop her, except perhaps Stosur.

The Federer/Mahut match is, by some measure, the least exciting singles match currently being played at RG so why the **** is ITV showing it??????????????????????????????

Ratings.

The casual tennis fan will tune in for the big names. They wont for someone they've never heard of even if it's a much more competitive match and therefore much better viewing for us fanatics. Sad but true.

Yes, fair point. I've only seen her first round match where she nearly went out but I gather she's improved since then.
