I reckon Hollie will be bottom and will be saved only if she delivers a really good save me performance

Now it makes no sense to wait until next week as it becomes pointless to vote as no one will go home so it will be used this week, and probably on a girl”

Bit in bold, This is what i am getting at. One year they had a top 13 as well and there was a double elimination (before the save was used) on the first or second week and there was never a problem so why is there a problem this year? Did they not plan a double elimnation then? Is that why they are supposedly a week short?

I don't think you're getting it, it's not because it was a Top 13, its because Jermaine was disqualified meaning there was already a double elimination.

Don't know about that one, maybe they had a 12 week schedule and 13 contestants?

But as for this season, they had 13 week schedule for top 13. The first week we had 2 contestants out (Jeremy Rosado eliminated and Jermaine Jones disqualified) leaving us with 11 contestant and 12 week shows. So they only way will be they use the save and NO double elimination afterwards. Any other way it wouldn't work.

No, you don't get it. One year they had a top 13 and had a double elimination. They hadn't used the save until top 7 or top 6 and when they did use the save there was still a double elimination the week after. So what i am saying is what is different this time because if you count the week Jermaine was taken off the show then 2 people went so therefore a sort of double elimination so why is it causing issues with the double elimination after the save? It should be going the same way as the year i am talking about so no problems with definitely using the save.

The only thing i can think of that is causing the issue is they started the live shows earlier so they were not planning a double elimination and so when Jermaine got taken off the show then it messed up thier planned out single eliminations to the final?

With them using the save on Jessica tonight I think next week will be just as much of a shock as there is no safety net. I can imagine Jessica going next week if the American voters are miffed that their votes didn't technically count.

Why would any voter think their votes did not count? Those who voted for anyone other than Jessica would be very satisfied, their favourite was not bottom of the poll - mission accomplished.

No I meant the people who voted for Jessica will be miffed not the others.

Yeah there really should be a refund thing to the voters when the save is used because it makes the whole point of the vote redundant. This is the reason it should be scrapped and those judges should just let voters decide and not insult everyone else if their chosen two are in bottom three.

Votes are free on American Idol.

That explains the mountains of adverts. In the UK we have to pay to vote on shows like American Idol.

Ok well i think the votes from the week the save is used should be carried into the next week and be combined with that weeks votes. Therefore the contestants will be fairly judged on both weeks performances. It is only fair considering the person with the least votes is still in the competition when really if the save did not exist they'd be out.

That sounds fair to me too! The problem with the save is that it almost certainly guarantees the person an extra two weeks on the show. The rebound vote from the save will carry absolutely any contestant through another week. It's far to big an advantage for the contestant who comes bottom.

Unfortunately it didn't save my Erika But it's always going to help the person who's won the save. It's such a close year this year, so it's more effective than ever.
