To be fair it was his fualt, to sell records you have to have a personality that will warm to the public. Sadly he didn't have one.
Never thought he was anything special but got attacked last year for suggesting it by a couple of his avid fans

But there's no show without contestants, and the judges make such a display of how wonderful everything is and how great the contestants are.... you'd think it would be simple human decency for Cowell to take some interest when the show's over. got the album, not well produced, he's got an amazing voice but needs to be belting it out live in front of an audience not in the intimacy of a recording studio. The orchestral backing was louder than his voice at times. Great songs but the set up wasn't right for his voice. Bet he's got a great career on the stage though, fabulous voice. He's probably well rid of cowell's influence.
I never understand why he won in the first place, so I'm not surprised that he was dropped because he obviously had zero potential.
I always think that singers who go on BGT are not looking for a career in the music industry, they are just looking for the prize. How can you be successful in the industry when people have only seen you max 3 times on TV? So in Jai's case, he's got his money, he should be grateful, because unlike XF where the winner is bound to be signed, no record company owes him anything.

Last year we had many great acts too, but they were eliminated in the semi-final, leaving rubbish getting through to the grand final, and hence the underwhelming winner.
I liked Jai...I thought he was one of the best acts of last year's BGT as many were pretty poor but he's still a great singer 
I'm glad he won. he's got a great gift Simon never bothered promoting him because he didn't expect him to win infact most of the judges thought or wanted Ronan would win :sleep: wait...he bought a 3 bedroom house for £52,000?

Problem with Jai wasn't his singing, it was his lack of a star persona. I don't think that he really believes in himself. If you don't then the public sure as hell won't. Ronan had one and he was only 12 and I'm sure will be a big star in the future.

Was Ronan Parke the act who the judges appeared to be disappointed didn't win when Jai McDowall did?
It once again makes Simon not look like the accomplished business man he's supposed to be.
It seems like with his musical acts he takes absolutely no risks, he always goes for the safest and easiest option, completely nullifying anything remotely unique as it's simply too unpredictable.
If Simon was to get an act that he wasn't too keen on, or one that was away from the norm, and managed to make a success out of them then I'd be really impressed.
But no, it's all about a quick route to fame making as much money as possible but with a minimum amount of effort and chance.

Anything else outside of the vote is subjective opinion.

On the show itself he got more votes than anybody else. That is the strongest suggestion that the public did warm to his personality over anybody else.

This is the thing the though, Ronan was fav to win but beacuse of the fix alligations he didn't. Or no doubt he had it in the bag..

I don't believe that is 'being fair'. You could have an incredible personality but it isn't going to make you sell records if the public aren't being made aware of you after the series has finished.
Come to think of it if you're selling records due to your personality then perhaps people wouldn't be buying those records because they value talent or ability. Which in itself probably isn't the greatest advertisement for a show titled 'Britain's Got Talent'.

It could simply be just like Susan Boyle that at the time she was overrated by the show and the hype surrounding it compared to what people really thought at the time.
There may have been a general perception at the time on ITV and the DS forum that Subo and Ronan were the most amazing things people had ever seen in their lives, but in reality the people who were actually prepared to vote didn't think the same.
I really liked his singing!
Had I known he had released an album I'd probably have given it a listen!

I think both Subo and Ronan lost out through voting backlashes. I recall on both times on DS there were campaigns to vote for the 'other' act just to upset judges and/or media expectations. If people had voted in the normal manner, I believe both Subo and Ronan would have won.
Having said that I'm glad Diversity won as it gave them a big break. Subo was already set up for success.

I doubt Subo and Ronan lost due to a voting backlash. The public vote for the act they genuinely liked the most. Considering that the whole of UK & voters are not DS users, & therefore would not have been aware of any campaign on DS, I believe the voting was fair and Diversity and Jai would've won even if there was no campaign.
Anyone want to bet this year's winner will be posting the same sort of comments in a year's time? Come back in a year and see if the winner of BGT 2012 is a bit bitter and disappointed.

I feel so sorry for Jai. These talent shows are noithing but a way for MR Cowell to get rich quick without a thought for the artist . SImon wants puppets he can mould into what he thinks the public want .
Jai has a wonderful voice and if managed well can go on to have a long career in music doing what he he does best. Anyone can sing a song the Cowell way purely by numbers but some singers can sing from the heart and Jai is one of those he emits emotion to his audience whilst singing he captibvates his audience he may not always be note perfect but he has a truely raw talent that with the correct nuturing can go on to greater things

me too I don't think he had a recording voice at all
but I also don't think he will do very well in musical theater as he does not have the big personality that it takes to fill a theater
I never thought he would do very well as I don't know what niche he could ever fill.
Quite frankly he was a nice person with a nice voice and nice does not make a star.
