Sarah Manners & Brendan Cole ---> 4/6

Esther Rantzen & Anton Du Beke ---> 2/1

Diarmuid Gavin & Nicole Cutler ---> 11/4

Julian Clary & Erin Boag ---> 16/1

Roger Black & Camilla Dallerup ---> 22/1

Aled Jones & Lilia Kopylova ---> 50/1

Denise Lewis & Ian Waite ---> 75/1

Jill Halfpenny & Darren Bennett ---> 75/1

Following the slightly surprising eviction of Carol Vorderman from last Saturday’s Strictly Come Dancing 2 show, two more ladies head the betting to be given the boot this week.

This goes against the line of thought which dictates that it is easier for the women as the male contestants are required to take the lead.

Sarah Manners is the 5/4 favourite. The secretary from BBC 1’s Casualty was roundly criticised by the judges last week and it will take an improvement if the same experience is not to be replicated. The public once again decides the outcome by voting through the phone lines.

Next in line is Esther Rantzen and she clearly struggled with the Rumba last week. However, the veteran TV presenter was uncomfortable performing the dance of love in front of her daughters and should find the tango easier going. The 7/4 should be left alone therefore.

We selected Diarmuid Gavin last week, but the “bad boy of gardening” rode his luck to remain in the show. Just how long his lucky clover can keep him going is open to question however, and 9/4 is the best price to be found about his eviction this week. Reports suggest that the Irishman is getting to grips with the tango however.

The bookies seem to think it is between these three, with Julian Clary the next shortest at 12/1. Likening presenter Natasha Kaplinsky’s dress to that of a prostitute provided the main talking point from the last week’s show however, and his entertainment value cannot be doubted. This should be enough to keep him on board for the time being.

Former Olympic pentathlon gold medallist Denise Lewis is favourite to win overall at just 5/2 after showing genuine talent with her partner Ian Waite. Jill Halfpenny is also well fancied at 11/4 with Aled Jones the shortest man, at a best of 4/1.

Thanks for that PA.

I'm not surprised Sarah is the favourite to go this week. There's no love lost between Brendan and Sarah this week, and her rhumba wasn't really spot on, IMHO.

Are they jiving or tangoing this week?

I beleive they are doing the Tango this Saturday. Should be interesting as it appears theyve done hardly any practicing for it. And Brendan seems to have given up on even trying with her!
