Photos on my computer hard disk

I have a HomePlug connection from my computer to my Foxsat+ for use with IPlayers.

Is there any way that I can use the present set up to show the photos on my computer's hard drive on the lounge TV screen?

Are you using Raydon's Modified firmware?

Short term solution would be to put your photos on a USB stick and upload them via the front USB port straight onto the hard drive. Add some music and you get a screenshow with background sounds.

No: I would be quite likely to get it all "for top read bottom".

Are you thinking there might be a way using Raydon's f/w?

With Raydons firmware you can ftp your photos to the Hdr internal HDD or even to a usb drive attached to one of the ports.

There are easier ways to do this with other kit, A Media Player with network access, A PS3 or Xbox 360 come to mind. You can then play video as well as photos from your PC.

@waynejac That is a thought! , but it would take space.

My photo files generally are 3264 x 2448 px. What would be recommended re-size for showing on 32" screen to ensure good quality reproduction? Any ideas anyone?

Crop to 16:9 and resize to 1920 x 1080. You don't need to upload them to view them you can view them direct from a usb device just using the Media button. Red change device to usb and select the photo option.

There are much better options

Create a 1920 x 1080 slide show with music and transitions using video editing software and output to a .mts file.

Use AV2HDR to create a .TS and matching .nts and .hmt files. Copy to a usb stick and play back like any other movie.

If you want to upload a few pictures to a file share site I can produce a simple demo file to show you what's possible.

Thanks for all the help!

My enquiry rose out of a recent visit to friends back where we moved from some years ago. They had continuously playing photos. They were randomized and sometimes displayed other than straight full screen, sometimes more than one on the screen simultaneously.

Choose the SD version if your broadband is a tad slow.
