Bought some Asparagus today... a huge amount as well

Love me some asparagus in garlic butter, made into soup or on top a fish

Cheap breaded Camembert isn't that nice... it's at it's best when lugged home from France on a hot day stinking out the tube

Not seen Teapotty in ages!

Also not sure why Splinter-Z isn't in the top five as he seems to post an awful lot

That reminds me of a trip on Eurostar to Calais years back, when a particularly stinky cheese reeked out the entire carriage and we got hard stares from all and sundry. It absolutely stank....but it was delicious Very runny indeed but gorgeous spread on the baguette we had and some of the bargain red vino

Not been in years but I used to love going on a booze cruise....as in take the car on the ferry and stack it to the rafters One time we took my brother in law and he forgot his passport, so at Dover I told him to lie down on the back seat and look invisible....we got on the Ferry fine and had a lovely day in France. On the way back, oh oh!!! NO passport and irate French dude jumping up and down. So I got out the car, pointed to Bro in Law and the ex, they is like Tweedledum and Tweedledee, pointed out the ex had a passport and that obviously they HAD to be related....and they let us back on the ferry to England with a ticking orf

We'd driven to Calais and were queuing for the ferry when bro in law found the passport was missing. Either we left him in Dover for the day or smuggled him over.....the pirate in me won. Back in the 90s we would go every three months or so as I drank a deal more then and it was vastly cheaper. Also the French offered try before you buy, I was always wasted at the end of the day
