That's quite sad that your MP abstained and I know how frustrating that must be! I looked at my current location and my hometown MP's to see how they voted and was saddened by both. Chelmsford Tory MP Simon Burns voted against it and the MP from back home voted against it too, the deeply saddening part being that he's a Labour MP (being 1 of the 22 labour voting against)

I guess i'm pretty lucky on this particular issue with my local MP being Ed Milliband who has obviously been very supportive of equal marriage.

It must be such a difficult thing for people who have to balance this issue, which we all feel very passionately about, with all the other political viewpoints that their local MPs have.
