So are you a woman inside?
I wasn't saying that being gay makes me like girly things, because equally, there are plenty of guys or girls who aren't so stereotypical... But, I just kind of liked the things I did, I was pushed into other things, but I couldn't appreciate them the same way. I guess anyone who has grown up in a ethnic cultural, Catholic family might recognise what I'm on about.. There were certain expectations of the 'men', and I didn't really fit in with them. Even my mum says she always knew I was different. Quote:
I used to belong to the "it doesn't define me at all" school of thought. But now I agree with you Jason.
I think who you are attracted to and love is a major part of yourself.Certainly for myself I have a great sense of pride in who I am. Plus as an aside, I love liking boys and wouldn't ever want to change that. ![]() |

I can understand that.
I just don't get how liking boys makes you like girls things, sorry. ![]() I think a point that Jason and I are maybe touching on is that the fact that we've already accepted that we're different to the 'norms' of society in some way means that we perhaps kind of find it a little easier to embrace other aspects of our personality that maybe aren't conventional in the eyes of everyone. I could probably word this a bit better but hopefully you'll know what I mean! |

It doesn't necessarily! Gay guys are all different just like anyone; I know one guy who's built like a brick shithouse and plays rugby for example...

but I wouldn't know how you would expand on that.ChristmasCake I know what you mean and have heard others say the same thing. Even though I have always enjoyed and been good at things that were traditional male pastimes like drinking, animals, outdoors, boxing, I've never liked football and I liked reading and drawing a lot. I am really good at cooking. Maybe I am justifying it in reverse and seeing correlation but not causation, but I can see how that might give comfort rather than distress. It alarms me when someone straight can be called "oh he's just a big softie" for being nice or something, and then when a gay does it they give him grief for doing it because he's gay and obviously just being effeminate. They can be doing exactly the same thing. |

Yes I understand, and I am glad you added that it wasn't a given as well.

What're you curious about? I think the key point is that you're not going to get around the fact that the natural assumption of people is that boys are interested in girls and when you grow up, irrespective of how accepting people are you have the impression of that being 'how it is' and becoming aware of not fitting in with that if you're gay.

yes I see that, that's just all it is though right? but I don't see why that would make me not like football.

Haha, I've just taken a look at them, some are well most. xD I'm quite flukey at evading camera snappy-happy monsters who always manage to get awful pictures of me ![]() Awwh, I wouldn't say most are Javvy There's a few which are very unique ( ), then again we all have those on our pics (in fact I have a few too many for my liking )!!Btw, did you happen to catch Queens final? is a raging homo meaning you are a flamer, or you just really really like guys or that you are incredibly comfortable being gay or what. Sorry if that's an obvious question or you were just joking.

Nice to see you are enjoying Essex <3. Oops, I told my friend about Fifty Shades of Grey yesterday. She bought it but apparently it's a 'mummy's porn' erotic novel... I don't think she'll like it Everyone was raving about it... It has BDSM

You love a bit of bdsm don't you javvy ?I wouldn't expect such a novel being on the best seller lists... Also it's apparently originated from some Twilight fanfic... I did see a series called 'Gone' which seems ok... It's by Michael Grant Haha, I'm innocent, like the smoothie.
