Haha I know, it's amazing seeing it happen You'd think they'd just choose at random for the ceremonies to avoid that disappointment happening when the situation arises where a country doesn't deliver the expected Gold

I missed that medal ceremony, but it doesn't come as a surprise to hear Anne was awarding the medals

Having watched the closing ceremony, I now have Olympic withdrawals and my life now feels empty after these two weeks of celebrations and fun It's such a shame to see it all come to a close now it'll be back to reality tomorrow It's been fun while it lasted and I'm so pleased to see how well the games have gone over internationally also Nice to see some positivity about Britain

Well said that man! Its just a shame that the show turned out to be such a turd last night. Still we can't have everything I suppose.

Yeah and I'd much rather the closing one be bad than the opening!

I just got a letter about freshers week, I didn't even know that existed until about 2 hours ago - can anyone explain?

Same. I've noticed Sky was quick to remove all the Olympic channels this morning. I can't believe after about 7/8 years thats it done in two weeks. I kinda wish I went to some events or something now. Though I do intend on buying a Pride and/or Wedlock toy. Also jealous my friend was able to get a job in security and has a name badge to forever cherish the moment.

A week before uni where Freshers generally gather and drink. A lot. Basically to get you to relax and meet other people and socialise. Its before the first week so I assume the start of September for you? Enjoy it if you go to any events.

Yeah, whilst the closing ceremony wasn't as good as I would've liked, the Olympians looked like they were enjoying it at least, so I suppose as long as they were happy with it, I can be happy too

So true! I may be the odd one out here, but I just loved our opening ceremony

It's basically a week (or if you're a LeedsMet student 2 weeks ) of partying with all the newbies at Uni and there are usually different events/parties/socials etc organised to help you both make friends and settle in that little bit easier at Uni If you go to any, have a great time!!

Eric Idle was fab in the closing ceremony Suprisingly, although I doubt they were live, the Spice Girls at least managed to put on a show and got quite a great reception

Haha, I guess its because he isn't very 'mancho' when you see him running around the pool in speedos.

Here's something... I can't believe Tom Daley and Chris Mears have had a tattoos done. And Tom's is not a subtle one either.

Whoever did Tom's tattoo didn't do it right, well, at least it doesn't look right to me, the rings look all smooshified.

I'm not generally a huge fan of tattoos, but I do think on the right person and with the right tattoo that they can look quite nice.

Nope, not really a huge fan, but will admit that Mears' doesn't look too bad and kinda adds to his appeal

I thought that too It's almost as if the rings have been squished too closely together and aren't properly linked as a result Though I'm hoping it just looks like that because of the way his arm is positioned!

Nope not a fan at all. each to their own and all that, but I just don't like 'em.

Daley's is too big for starters. He seems pretty small so that taking up his whole bicep doesn't really work... Its so unsubtle... Its not like he won gold... I mean its what people will always see now when competing... Chris Mears' is ok. But I always flinch at wrist tattoos and I always question the pain and try to imagine it by lightly scratching over the area and it just makes me shiver.

I have to say tattoos forme depend on the size and person tbh. I prefer more discrete ones in general.

How is all?

BIB - snap Wrist ones are generally ok as they're usually smaller and much more discrete (plus if it's the same arm you wear a watch on, you can cover them quite easily if you wanted to)...

I'm great thanks! Oooh and Revenge UK pace
Spoiler
The revelation of Charlotte being Emily's sister Totally didn't see that one coming

How's things up in Scotlandy? You looking forward to heading back to uni? Sooo jealous you've got more time there

Indeed. I do want one but I'm so indecisive I'll probably not bother. I'd figure it'd be upper arm or back. Maybe even lower front. But as I say its so unlikely.

Haha, I don't go back for another month yet. Also looked at my timetable and its nice to see I'm not in on the first day after my 21st.

How is your work/planning/life going?

Quote:

lol not too bad! Finally got round to sorting through my uni stuff ( ) and condensing my 3 years worth of work to those plastic binder thingies in the hope they'd save me some space for transporting etc. Was hoping to get it down to about 10 binders tops, but the best I could do was 17 I didn't realise just how many notes, revision stuff etc I'd made over the 3 years!!

Also heading up your way (well not quite sure where abouts up there ) to Kircudbright for couple days to see the Festival thing they put on before nipping across to see fam! Hope you've got better weather than we have!!

Just annoying back pain mostly! Been to the docs and have been on anti inflammerties etc. Just off so will see how the next few days are like!

Haha, two years *cough* I think only one 9am start. But there's 5 back to back hours of lectures on one day I think. Some late labs but its not very full either so can't complain.

Haha, indeed it's my way! You have to go into Dumfries before heading towards Stranraer (A74) I think to get to Kircudbright. that's nice. You should stop at Cream O'Galloway and play in the 3D maze!!! When are you heading up?
