There must be something in the air today, I just went down to my local corner shop and the clerk said that I look beautiful and asked me what my name was. I was flattered but he's Bangladeshi so I didn't stay for too long just incase I get involved in an arranged marriage.
arranged or deranged?

Anne will be buying a hat as soon as she sees your post Foxy.

Anyone done a review of the Closing Ceremony yet?

What I saw in the Closing Ceremony confirmed to me what I have been saying for a while now - that the British pop music scene was much better in the old days. The proof of this was evident in the show as the organisers wheeled out geriatric after geriatric with barely an artist from this century. OK, they started with New Directions, but who let George Michael go on for about 15 minutes? Was he plugging a new album? Why couldn’t he do a few Wham songs that everyone could have sang along to? I was so bored I went back to my Sunday crossword.

Then some ancient Scottish woman (she’s older than me) turned up in an enormous red dress and a motorised ship and toured the stadium singing something unintelligible and then disappeared again. A chance to sing along to Sweet Dreams missed. What was Fat Boy Slim doing there? Not much by the look of it. I did like the octopus though. Russell Brand – really? What was Timothy Spall doing sticking out of the top of Big Ben? And Muse were horribly out of tune.

We have already experienced the disappointment of the hiring of pensioners who have lost the major part of their skills - at Eurovision, and Macca at the opening ceremony, so when Ray Davies came to the mic we should have known what to expect. I was very disappointed at the Brian May guitar stuff, as someone had clearly turned the volume to 11 and then left the reverb/echo on for the whole time. Maybe he has arthritis and was covering up . It didn’t help when Jessie J came on and wailed all the way through, making up her own words. At one point when she kneeled before him did it look as if she was going to give him a blow job, or was that just the vivid imagination of an old man? Then at the end they dug out Roger Daltrey who I know has lost the edge to his voice, although he actually managed to get through it without sounding too bad.

What did I like? Elbow were excellent (they still look like a group of Dads practicing at the local pub), and Darcy made some nice shapes. I thought it was a fine idea not to allow Ed Sheeran to sing one of his depressing dirges. Eric Idle was brilliantly bonkers, dancing romans, Welsh costumes, pipers, operatic Brittania - very Python-esque. The light show and graphics were superb. I loved the Spice Girls, although the icing on the cake would have been if one of them had gone ar@e over tit off the back of the taxi. Interesting internal politics here as I noticed Mel B seemed to be hogging the centre spot – clearly Gerry’s bantamweight figure is no match for Mel B’s middleweight.

What was noticeable was who and what was missing. Where was Robbie Williams? And I would definitely given Tony Hadley the nod above George Michael. We know Girls Aloud can’t sing live, but what about Katie Melua, Lily Allen, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Leona Lewis, Sugarbabes, and Charlotte Church to name but a few. And I thought Katherine Jenkins always shows up for these sorts of bashes. What was that nonsense about the models – and where was the musical theatre Andrew Lloyd Webber tribute? (OK, I didn’t mean that last bit.)

Did I enjoy it? Yes, it was daft but entertaining. And that is what parties are all about – enjoying yourself, getting drunk and getting laid. For me, two out of the three isn’t bad.

I wouldve loved Ellie Goulding to perform Lights at the closing ceremony. Big now in the US. Andi can see the whole staging of it being epic!!!!!!

If anyone has access to BBC Radio Norfolk tomorrow morning you'll be able to hear me take part in an interview about results day.

Well, as long as they don't cut me out lol.

There's even a listen again feature

I'll keep an ear out for you, although listening to that station for any length of time makes me want to chew my own arm off

I was on there last year as a "Eurovision Fan" sticking up for the contest

Well, here's an update for you.. I'm going to be opening my results live on BBC Radio Norfolk at 8.10AM tomorrow. Feel free to have a listen!

(the fact I've been asked to do it should suggest that I've definately got into uni - would be very awkward otherwise. )

I was asked to do a video for the Guardian website about A level results day but I'm not very confident so I politely declined. I see mine at 6am because my school's doing them online for the first time. Scary.

How will I know which one is you? I suggest that you put a little Eurovision twist on the results opening :

"Ani Lorak! I got an A!!"

Good luck to everyone who gets their results tomorrow, I'll keep everything (except my eyes) crossed

I'll third Matt and Anne's good luck to any and everyone getting results.

I got my A Level results on my 18th Birthday (can't quite believe a whole decade has gone past since!) I wasn't worried, mostly because I didn't care!

In regards to Accused last night - well worth a watch. Sean Bean was brilliant. Can't remember who tweeted it originally but Caitlin Moran retweeted it, describing it as "Dame of Thrones".

As far as I'm aware, I'm the only person doing it so far. There'll probably end up being more though. We'll have to do a little introduction bit at the start anyway so you should hear me attempt to communicate vocally, which will be quite a challenge considering I'll be sleep deprived and anxious.

& thanks to everyone who's wished me good luck. Hope everyone else who's getting results gets what they want/need.
