God Anne, I'd completely forgotten about that drama from last year. And I can't believe you're re-living it again this year!

Non-Eurovision fans just don't get it, do they? In 2006, my best friend had her 18th birthday party on the night of the final. I said I wasn't gonna go, all hell broke loose and I relented. But the day before I phoned her and explained that I just couldn't not watch Eurovision. She was okay about it, but needless to say, we aren't best friends nowadays....

Another one's baby is due on May 23rd, so will be organising visits very carefully!

Friends just don't *get* it do they? Pre 2005 I would have begrudgingly gone to this sort of thing, but due to you lot making me such a geek, there's no chance now!

We must so totally do that! I have no idea how I'd explain that to my family though.

Could you imagine how awkward it would be??

We'd all have to have badges! Except me probably ..... *looks round for other middle aged mums*... yep, definitely wouldn't need one!

forget conference rooms with 50" TV's you can actually book cinema screens for private viewings, you need alcohol to watch eurovision though don't think many cinemas have licenses though.

I'm pro-DS meet-up, but definitely not at Eurovision. The stakes are high on Eurovision night, and if the meet-up was a disaster, not only have we ruined DS, but also an entire Eurovision.

Loved it too - howled with laughter when Prost was trying to chat up (very gay) Selina Scott, and howled with tears again at Senna's untimely death

It might be nearly 20 years ago, but it's as shocking today as it was back then. Being a big Barrichello fan, I had a horrible start to that weekend in Imola anyway, little did I know how much worse it was going to get

I'd don't think I'd need a badge either, following your logic Anne I needn't say why.

I'm the same - it would have to be just for the hell of it, or maybe for the Latvian final?

I would want to talk incessantly to each and every one of you, and when Eurovision proper is on, I sit in silence rocking back and forth like a Section 135....

i've never been that one usually end up in vue in Birkenhead or ocasionally the Bromborough odeon, was going to go the new one in New Brighton the other week but decided it was too windy for being by the sea, apparently that serves alcohol as well.

I remember my mum being in floods of tears when it happened. Me, only being about 7, obviously didn't understand

While I think about it, do you think Bahrain's going to go ahead this weekend? A Force India hire car was involved in a fire bomb incident this week, and there's threats all over the place

Personally, I'd pack my bag and head to the hills if I were them

I just realised I haven't posted in here yet! I'm such an antisocial bugger.

I'd definitely be up for a DS meet, on the one condition that we have a eurovision-themed Stars In Their Eyes competition. I'm dying to see Anne Gronvall.

After what happened today I doubt it.

Looking forward to the new American Street race soon

I nearly had the same dilemma this year! One of my friends relayed to me that it was on Eurovision night, so I pretended that I didn't know which to choose (knowing what I'd pick!). Thankfully, after getting the invitations we realised that it was a mistake, and the wedding's actually on the Friday. Nobody loses out now

And that's what Sky+/DVD Recorders/VCRs are for

I'm sure I was dragged out to a friend of a friend's birthday party on the night of the 2008 final, but luckily at that point I'd been setting the video (cos I'm old school, and I had one in my own room) since 2004. All I remember thinking during the night out was "actually, I'm not really bothered who does win, just as long as it's not Russia"

On that note, I still do have every broadcast (barring 2004 semi) from 2004-2010 recorded on videos somewhere in a box in the spare room! Just nothing to play them on any more! If I can ever figure out a way to hook a VCR up to my computer recording equipment I'd be a rather happy chappy. After all, I managed to get all the equipment working last year so that I could record them off the TV straight to computer last year so I'll always have video files of them. Hence why I was able to do the likes of these a day or two after

Just tried to make a quiche with disastrous results, as I was about to put it in the oven the crust split in half and the mixture went everywhere. If I come across anyone who happens to work at Sainsbury's today then I will well and truly punch them.

If I pop into my local Sainsbury's later today, do you want me to have words?
