The next thing I'd have offered her would be a short stay in Switzerland.

Judging by how old she was I don't think sending her to Switzerland would even be necessary.

I do love having irritated customers however, my main tactic is to be annoyingly polite and as patronising as possible whilst trying to look innocent.

Plus Switzerland/Lys...doesn't always work!

Oh yes, be sickeningly polite - please complain that I was too nice!

I hate the customer service culture. I think people in general are pretty awesome and manners are currency but (and I think a comedian clarified this recently), I'd rather sales assistants were able to be honest and funny rather than fake!

Also, Russell Howard...yes, please?

Absolutely, I think the whole customer service system nowadays is so robotic. When I got back from work I went up to my local Co-Op to get some milk, the woman at the till looked like she was about to be catapulted into the sun, I felt like I was wasting her time.

As for Russell Howard? I definitely wouldn't be kicking him out of my bed!
Speaking of which I think that's where I should go right now, only I'll be disappointed when I pull back the covers and find no trace of gorgeous Russell ever having been there.

Foxy I have worked in retail for 23 years and despite my sarcasm I have only ever received 8 letters of complaint about me

I owe you some supermarket anecdotes later today!

I work in retail - had a pretty bad complaint this week, which I think is totally unfounded, mostly because I think the 'encounter' never happened at all!

I never understand when people say that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. I imagine that the people saying that just don't get sarcasm. Surely toilet humour is lower? Personally, funny is funny. If it works, it's funny!

Any other Grandma's House/30 Rock/New Girl fans here?

Been out for a night on the piss and am a little bit drunk. Town was packed though. And I fell over. Didn't stop me whipping out the slick dance moves though.

Is that interesting enough to justify a post?

Of course!

I'm an indie/emo(ex)kid and the Academy was all about the contrast about floors that you stuck to and floors that you couldn't stay upright on. Ah, good times!

There is no such bloody thing as a English curry! You may aswell ask for a Chinese Shepard's Pie! ”

Actually there is as far as supermarkets are concerned, and is usually just called "Chicken Curry", for example::

It's kinda like a less sweet but slightly spicy sweet+sour sauce.and typically, the only solid item in the sauce is the chicken itself with no other fancy stuff like chick peas. It's especially popular with older people because there's enough of a tang that it can claim to be a "curry", but no danger of strong flavours that can upset their stomachs.

Although to be fair, it's far too lowest-common-denominator to be found in a poncey shop like Waitrose

Ah right that may have been what she was looking for then. She certainly came to the wrong place then because leading on from what you said, Waitrose would never stock that crap!

I could give many customer service stories on here but my brain hasn't woken up fully yet. Also the mention of Russell Howard has put me in agreement with a few of you others. I may be (mostly) straight, but that guy's been on my "list" for a good while now!

I like how we tick all the LGBT boxes, we're just missing a lesbian though.

I'm sure we could elect someone to be an honorary lesbian for.

I was in Norwich today and was outside the main shopping centre waiting to see someone and this black guy comes up to me and asks 'Excuse me, are you a man?' it totally threw me so I responded in a stern tone 'Excuse me?' and he says 'Oh, never mind I thought you were someone else'
Did he think I was Dana?

Well he was black, worked at Chapelfield and spoke like a chav. So the answer to your question is no unless one of you is a master of disguise.

To be be perfectly honest though, I'd say if you were to walk past me in the street you wouldn't think anything of it, just so you know I'm not one of those unconvincing, wig wearing, butch, man in make up type transsexuals.

Apparently here in Darlo, there was nearly a tornado on Saturday according the local BBC News last night.

It didn't touch the ground so it was only classed as a funnel. I would've loved an actual tornado.
