What a terrible week for music

(I'm talking about the deaths of Donna and Robin, not the impending Eurovision week)

I saw a bee gees tribute act last year at The Matthew Street festival in Liverpool and they where really good. the bee gees had some really good songs, even wrote loads of good songs for other artists as well.

Seeing as the first semi-final is tomorrow, I'm going to see how many of this year's Eurovision songs I can namecheck into tomorrow's General Studies exam.

The AS stats exam coincides with the torch relay, and so those who have the exam have to come in slightly earlier and be escorted to school.

I'm properly in love/empathising with Saga - my sister is a teacher at a special school and she's always telling me that I'm autistic (I get the awkwardness, still waiting for the gift!) Brilliant Scandi-tv.”

Had to record the last two episodes as I was away this weekend. Rushed back and watched them both on Sunday evening.

I think by the end I was picking up some differences in the Danish and Swedish pronunciation (Saga and Sorga for example).
Despite it being a bit dark, Saga provided lots of laugh-out-loud moments.

Won't spoil the end for you just in case you haven't seen it yet.

Determine whether they sound as if they're singing. If they are, it's Swedish.

Well, I may now be on my Eurovision type holiday, but it was a bloody long road to get here

I skipped out of work at 3.45 as planned, almost did that little sideways type jump where you click your heels? Got to Eric Saab and .... flat tyre

Luckily, there were still some mechanics in the fleet dept., so they bolted on my space saver tyre, found a massive rip in the original, and that is now at the garage for another hefty bill for my 3rd low profile tyre in 6 months - darn Norfolk potholes!!!!

Still, gonna treat myself to a beer now

Saw the news about Robin Gibb this morning. What a loss, he'll be sorely missed.

Oh dear, just had a MASSIVE row with my dad about his horrible girlfriend. I hope it doesn't ruin Eurovision week for me.

Lol! And the Swedes are very laid back, whereas the Danes are full of themselves.

(I worked for a Danish company for a while and visited Copenhagen in the 1990s, and in the noughties I spent ten days in Malmo, flying into Copenhagen and going across the bridge by train!)

I'm all caught up now. Absolutely brilliant stuff. I had to watch the last episode in 2 parts as Sunday I spent the first half in hangover recovery and the second half at the cinema watching Avengers Assemble and American Reunion. I watched 20 minutes of The Bridge last night and just couldn't give it the concentration it deserved. Finished if off today and am blown away and satisfied and very eager to see what's to come in the second series.

I like it dark but yes, Saga made me laugh. The build up of the relationship between her and Martin was lovely to watch, despite the nature of lying to make people feel better having a pretty heartbreaking conclusion.
