The unthinkable has happened...I just spoke to my Eurovision hating sister and she told me that she actually watched some of the semi final last night and enjoyed it.

Glad you told us where it is 21CB because I honestly wouldn't have any idea! Who are you going with?
I'm going to Bournemouth Pride in July with 4 other friends so I at least have something to look forward to when Eurovision 2012 is over, I don't normally do pride given that it's gay pride but does anyone here do pride often? One of their parents owns a villa there (they re-develop properties in North Africa- takes all sorts!) and they're letting us have it. Wondeful- sun, sea and cheap wine! |

I've been listening to some thrash-ska music today, courtesy of my nephew whose band are big in that area - for some reason he values my opinion about music
![]() I now need schlager to counteract! Point nephew here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ska Then play nephew this - this is ska. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OaDx6_-WbLs Now explain to nephew how ska evolved into reggae... And re schlager, since I can never refuse a lady... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrZnpxOD1Lk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qAkQRczjDI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpyRZayFGug http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=922TeHUzhLA Enjoy! ![]() (Was talking with another oldie on Saturday, we reminisced about how in the old days we would make a compilation cassette tape of our favourite tracks to give to a favourite girl... don't know why I thought of that just now )

When I had the old dog I regularly used to see a badger round the estate when I used to take him his late night (often early morning...) walk. Eventually it got so used to me and the dog it would just hop behind a bush until we'd passed before coming back out again. Mind you when they run off, they are right tubby lumps of lard, you could feel the ground vibrate as it ran past. I'd also often see foxes and rabbits as well. It's good living in a predominantly retirement village as all the old farts are tucked up in bed by 9pm so nothing disturbs the wildlife which comes into the village off the marshes in search of slugs and snails to eat of which there are loads round here.
But enough of Springwatch.... |

Going round the house trying to find a few pennies I can buy an ice cream with only to look in my bank account and realise I got paid today! Now I don't even fancy an ice cream, bloody typical!

I went to the corner shop earlier on to get one of their giant cherry ice pops, but they didn't have any ice pops left at all.

Hi all. Haven't been in this thread in a while.
I kinda wish the amazing weather didn't coincide with Eurovision week, I feel so bad for not going out and enjoying it enough! How's everyone's excitement levels today?

Are you getting all the news coverage the same as here? Loose women not being too derogatory and 2.5 hours of Ken Bruce in Baku this morning, it's insane! It was even on Newsround

There's been a good bit of radio coverage too, RTE's main afternoon show has been in Baku all week so that's been great. They did interviews with Loreen, Joan and Trackshittaz as they're all in the same hotel as Jedward. They were really bigging up Joan to the listeners, but obviously we won't get a chance to vote on her now... |

How's everyone's excitement levels today? ![]() And today was just as nice. I made a playlist of the countries in performance order, hoping for some inspiration. But absolutely nothing new jumped out at me! I'm definitely excited. But some of the results last night haven't sat well with me, and they've taken a bit of getting used to. Are you excited? Quote:
It's great, and from reading the other thread it sounds like a lot of the coverage is really positive.

Loads of people thought they would win. Are people really positive this time round?

By the way, please ignore all that nonsense posted on your poll thread. I think some people just like to start a row! |

Yeah last night was an odd one alright. The only one I was really disappointed about was Slovenia though.

I think some people just like to start a row! ![]() It's much better when you think you have a shot at winning - like with Blue last year. But I imagine there's a lot of positivity in Ireland regarding Eurovision after 3 qualifications in a row. ![]() I'm trying my best to ignore it. I maybe didn't explain myself too well, but I didn't mean to cause any drama. I appreciate the support from someone in Ireland!
