Can you not record onto a videotape? Set it to record whatever channel digital is (it always used to be 6 if 1 was BBC1, 2 was BBC2, etc). It would just be similar to how it used to be done.

Haha! I think the first contest I was allowed to stay up and watch in its entirety was 1996. But I think that was because I was obsessed with Gina G, and my parents were having a party downstairs, and weren't particularly aware of what I was up to.
