Hate when women get all pissy over sexist banter.

> I'm in this fb group for people going to my uni

> I'm explaining why a pint is better than bottled beer

> She says she doesn't like beer

> I say that's because they don't pull pints in the kitchen

> She goes all pissy and makes me apologise

Funny how some women scream 'SEXISM SEXISM' at the most stupid point but objectify men just as much.

A couple of random things......

Digital Spy was quoted on-screen here on Weds night during an advert for Mrs Browns Boys on Channel 7.

I really, really like the new Owl City/Carly Rae Jepson song.......it's catchy as hell

oh, and the winter rain has arrived. *sigh*

Don't worry bout the rain Chickens, it will save you getting homesick as it hasn't stopped here for many a day now - Olympics will be a wash out at this rate!

I've just bought a new 10m cable for my router/ADSL filter, and it's not long enough Will have to drive another 24 mile round trip to go change it for something longer... have been freaked out by the ISP saying that when they visit on Monday. it will cost me £60 if they find out that my equipment is the problem, my RJ11 cable is a bit threadbare in places so am not taking any chances

Am I allowed to ask what you're doing there or is it a bit hush-hush?

No it's fine. I actually work as a freelance cameraman so am down working on a number of different sports.

Love the job so much but hate the travelling which is why I'm giving it up to start teaching maths, my other love, after Eurovision obviously.

Was away in Stornoway working on a celtic music festival the past 5 days and it gets a bit much.

Found some great fantasy songs tho, and the Proclaimers headlining was amazing

i try to stay away from people from my uni for this exact reason. i have enough friends, the first thing i want to say during a course is usually: 'hi, im gwen, please dont add me on facebook'

Sounds like a good job to me (at least you'll get to see some sport live!) - but then again I don't have the commitments like you do.

I'm seeing the Proclaimers at V in August. Can't wait

Yeah I loved it before but I think it's just with the family now that the travelling just gets to me. Can still see myself doing it tho for a few years to come on the side however for some extra dosh.

They are one of those bands that you don't realise just how many good songs they actually have. Sunshine on Leith, Letter From America and Life With You are my favourites.

ooh bbg, I feel for you! Before my current job, when Little Anzej was Wee Anzej, I used to have to go away on business all over Europe - hated it so much and can thoroughly recommend working 5 miles away from your house!

No! It's one of the main reason I watch (as well as the racing, which is bloody exciting and scary at times) The views over the Alps last week were amazing

OK, this is a dilemma

I get on here today and I have the fastest connection that I have ever had in my life! I'm able to load video's instantly in the click of a youtube link, song downloads take 10 secs instead of the usual 7-8 mins ..... and I have the plusnet bloke coming round between 8-1 tomorrow!

Should I call them and put them off? What if it goes all slow again?!

did your new cable work?

is the time now 'not' a peak period?

some ISP throttle the bandwidth to a trickle during peak periods if you are a heavy user..

or it could be this..

Ta thms - I'm not classed as a "heavy user" - have just spoken with them and they've loaded my system with bandwidth (?) to see what it can handle prior to the engineer coming tomorrow. Wish I could have this speed forever, but we'll see what he finds tomorrow

And my new cable made no difference, but looks way better than the threadbare one

Means they've given you more speed, like more priority over other people. Means things can be done quicker

Has anyone else ever been on a date and then found out they don't like the person? It's very awkward
