yeah if I leave my window closed I get really hot and if I open it my room fills with a smoke smell. I hope my house isn't on fire, no one cooked tonight.

Got a day off so out in a beer garden down in London. It's like living on the equator. Sweat is pouring off me as soon as I move. It's unreal how warm it is

I've got work in a few hours - in a kitchen! Kill me now..

Luckily it's not as hot oop north as it is down south but it's still baking hot.

It's the damn humidity that makes it worse. Roll on the winter for short days, frost, ice, snow and fog.

Anyone watching Great Britain v New Zealand? Normally I wouldn't touch women's football with a bargepole, but as it's the first event of the Games and Team GB's competitive debut I couldn't resist.

I watched. I used to go to the same school as Eni Aluko, she was in the same year as my sister.

When it comes to the Olympics, I'll watch anything. Mostly excited for the part of the opening ceremony when all the countries come out with their flags. Beautiful stuff.

I'm pretty much the same, and I normally can't stand sport. Although if Danny "The Beach" Boyle gets even a quarter of the way towards the quality of Beijing's opening ceremony, I'll be mightily impressed.

He's got a big task on his hands. I'm assuming our opening ceremony will be much more emotive than Beijing's opening Ceremony which was more 'shock and awe'.

Same here, I just love seeing all the flags and people from all over the world in one place like that. Must be the eurovision nut in me. Plus by all accounts the ceremony's going to be absolutely incredible. I can't wait.

My driving test is in 11 days and I'm surprisingly not nervous about it.

I'm more nervous about failure, and then going on holiday without re-booking my test!

I've been reading some right horror stories about evil examiners but I guess it's just down to the day- no two tests are the same so I hope I just luck in with an easy set of scenarios. My theory runs out December 2012 so I have to get a wriggle on and do it before I go back to Uni in September (hopefully!)

Lmao at that, Gwen.

You'll do fine, 21st. Good luck!

My one was talking to me the entire time about music, english literature and what I do on a day to day basis, LOL. It was rather distracting, actually. I wish she didn't. She has the lowest pass rate, too, so apparently she just had a soft touch for me, tehe. Although i'm pretty sure she thought I was really stupid from the second I left the centre place, she asked me to look at the license plate and I had to ask what car three times.

Good luck 21CB, if I was in your position I'd wear a mini skirt because it distracts the examiner. (Only if they're male or lesbian)

On my first of numerous tests I got into a fluster when the car wasn't moving. I'd forgot to turn the engine on. Not the best of starts

I was lucky enough to sit in on the final rehearsal of the opening ceremony last night. He's done an amazing job! He came into the stadium and told everyone to try and save the surprise so I'll share some pictures after tomorrow night. But don't expect a repeat of the Beijing ceremony this is definitely all-British!

Seriously brilliant though, it actually brought a tear to my eye at one point ! I didn't spot Quizmike either

Opening ceremonies get criticised a lot but to be there at one is surprisingly fantastic. There's a preview video here, which one is Mike? Does anyone know if he has wings?

Probably a really unpopular opinion but I'm sick of the Olympics already, I wouldn't mind but it just seems to be rammed down our throats a lot and I'm fed up of hearing about celebrities carrying the torch, and its annoying that local business's are not really be allowed to benefit with boss's cracking down on them for just mentioning the worlds associated with the Olympics or anything to do with the Olympics. It all just seems to corporate for me.

I'm not a sporty person though, will probably watch the opening ceremony but that's probably it.
