I took my first test in what felt like a monsoon - the wipers on full speed genuinely couldn't clear the windscreen quickly enough to see through. Yet for some inexplicable reason, the examiner still saw fit to fail me for driving too slow and not doing 40 in a 40 zone...

If it's being picked up by Royal Mail tomorrow, being sent first class and all, I imagine it will leave Swansea on Monday and be with me from Tuesday onwards?

Might give my instructor a call and tell him I have my old card back- surely they only need that for photo evidence?

I would have thought so - for a giggle, you should post your dilemma on the advice section of DS ... there's bound to be an examiner or two lurking around....

That response was clearly from a postman! You'll be ok, there will be some sort of Eurovision epiphany on the morning of the test and you will float through it

Me and Little Anzej were having a competition there, when a Eurovision participating country comes into the stadium, the winner is the one of us who sings one of their songs first

I've bloody LOVED the ceremony so far - reckon QuizMike was one of the Beatles

It's amazing, well done London!

I think he was a Beatle too...

Westminster council had the right idea

Ooh, and a nice bit of Pink Floyd when the fireworks were fireworking

Wow.

It's been a genuinely emotionally tough week for me but no excuses, I had a little cry during some of that.

If only the world could come together like that all the time. Say what you like about sport, it's powerful and emotional and inspiring.

Highlights for me:

Danny Boyle. What a vision.

Every competing country having a female representative. Small steps but each one takes the world further.

Nearly every country getting their moment to shine.

Images that we take for granted as being normal and right and fair such as the Suffragettes, Beth and Margaret's Brookside kiss, stunning mulriculturalism, the NHS being highlighted and beamed all over the world to so many countries, some of who need to open their minds more.

The torch. Beautiful. The older generation passing the torch onto the younger generation - more small steps.

Spectacle with heart. Not patriotism for the sake of it but making the Great in Britain genuine.

The actual Queen and James Bond.

Doreen Lawrence being one of the carriers of the Olympic flag.

Novak.

Not so good moments:

The BBC's obsession with Tom Daley - yes he's very pretty. Get over it.

Paul McCartney.

Kosovo not being able to compete under their own flag or under the Olympic flag, having to rely on Albania instead.

The jokes about not knowing so and so was a country - ha dee ha ha, have some respect for our world. We're all as important as each other whether we're from Nauru, Palestine, Lesotho or Great Britain.

Really nice touch having the youngsters light the flame, overall.. a success I think.

Didn't get the Tom Daley obsession at all!

Loved the big cheers for Palestine, Syria and Italy (or did I imagine that last one!)

Oh brummy, I had a little tear in my eye as well - first one was in that James Bond film when the actual Queen revealed herself, absolutely unprecented! The Abid With Me segment and the memorial wall got to me as well. The playing of Bowie's Heroes when Team GB came on to the pitch (was it a pitch?) and the cauldron revealing itself

Hated that I had to watch the last 2 hours alone as one by one my fellas called it a night

And I noticed the Brookside kiss too - very fleeting, but it stood for so much when it was originally shown

**** me I'm drunk off my face. That was superb. I am so proud to be British tonight. Sod Beijing that was just spectacular. I am absolutely taking my union flag to the badminton. Can't wait.

Just wonderful. Me and my mum were both pissed and waving our flags Roy d the living room to every cheer. Just wonderful. So glad we got the hey jude that we should have got during the jubilee. The parade of nations just flew by. Great idea for the flame. Oh I can't wait till we host Eurovision.

I do love the Royal Family although I'm not a royalist. Huw Edwards made me laugh twice when commentating on the Queen watching saying things like she was enthralled or captivated when really, the first time she looked like she had wind and the second time she looked bored.

Emeli Sandé was a definite highlight as well.

I don't want to go to bed now!

I did think that was funny, they were saying how much she was enjoying it when they cut to her, and she wasn't even watching!

I am absolutely exhausted from all of that so I have no idea how the participants must have felt.

Would not want to be using the tube tonight- especially as there are rumours of power surges now!

Thought I could hear the fireworks earlier but that was probably my imagination!
