Hi all, hope you're all doing well. Sorry I've not shown myself round these parts much lately, the off-season is pretty much dead time for me where Eurovision is concerned.

Just felt the need to chip in though after tonight's Olympic opening ceremony. During the Parade of Nations, did anyone else feel like chiming in with a "douze points" declaration during the English/French repetitions of country names?

I thought the opening ceremony was phenomenal. I loved the slight touches of humour to some of the segments. It was very much a made-for-TV opening ceremony with all the VT's and graphics which made it much more interesting to watch as I usually find opening ceremonies to quite boring, but not that one.

I watched until the athletes from Guam did their little parade and then I gave up. Will watch the repeat later on.

I was amazed to see that Brunel both kickstarted the Industrial revolution, and created Sgt Pepper!

An interesting mix of some stunningly brilliant moments and some definite "Step away from the crack-pipe, Mr Boyle" moments, but very enjoyable overall.

and 26.9M people watching the opening ceremony in the UK, that's unprecedented in recent years isn't it?!

I may not have won the Euro millions (curse you!) but I feel like I've won in a lot of other ways, am bathed in a patriotism today

The ceremony was absolutely spectacular last night, I was sat in my living room waving my little union flag watching all the countries come in, loved how country names were read out in English and French *SQUEEEE* just like Eurovision!

Did anyone notice one of the German officials giving the nazi salute as the German team came in?

I just screamed (showering everyone in sangria) "Oh my God he's heiling". It was a full on Nazi salute wasn't it- he looked about 90 aswell (potential war criminal!)

Phenomenal show last night, Danny Boyle is a genius! I'm still buzzing. I don't know about other countries but the French press all seem to love it, and they're notoriously hard to impress.

I thought they'd use the Stones more this time, considering it was 50 years to the day since their first gig, and that aside from the long dead Brian Jones, the line-up is pretty much the same as it was in their glory days.

Badgered the DVLA AGAIN today and told them how important it was. Apparently, it's not getting sent until Monday but will be first class and as my "postcode" has a very fast mail turn over, they would estimate "three working days".

I would happily go to Swansea to pick it up in person. I actually started pretending to cry on the phone when they wouldn't re-instate my old licence. If this is the worst thing that can happen in the run up to my test (and let's face it, it is) then I will have really overcome the odds if I pass!

I'm having an extremely blonde day today ... my ISP has advised me that I'm reaching my monthly limit of 10gb just two weeks into it, the usage chart shows that I've done a hell of a lot of streaming. Question - do these things count as streaming? :

1) Play videos on youtube
2) Play Song Pop via Facebook

YouTube is definitely streaming not sure about songpop but probably is quite heavy On the Internet usage. 10gb seems quite low to me but m used to having no limit.
