Great to see us get gold in the shooting. We really deserve it after the spectacular riots last year and our magnificent gun crime statistics!

Good theory!
The riots might also help explain why we got a medal in Judo today as well, fighting the police + other rioters and looters. It's just a bit of a shame that LCD TVs are so light now, otherwise we could have got gold in weightlifting as well

Ahaha!

Are we doing well in the hockey? If so that'll be because we're good at using sticks as weapons.

We are - 2nd in our group for the men's hockey, possibly top of our group for the women depending on how the games go today.

Then in typical British fashion we are DQ'd when we were guaranteed at least a silver in the womens track cycling

Did anything ever come of the Cyprus phone vote scandal?

There were a few stories around a while back about Azerbaijan and boxing at the Olympics.

Not that I've heard of. Although let's face it, even if anything were proven there's no way the EBU would have the backbone to do anything about it.

Following on from our discussion on how inappropriate Lithuania's flag is, a Lithuanian woman in the athletics just had the most foul long green songs on. In fact her entire outfit was made up of different shades of vile green. She looked absolutely awful.

I'm afraid you're incorrect. Sorry.

Oh also, I'm going on a viewing tomorrow for a room in a houseshare in London. Anyone got an idea of things I should ask the landlord?! I'm going to ask if my deposit will be put in that government scheme thing but otherwise I can't really think of anything to ask! Any suggestions?!

I found it through that Spare Room website. It's kind of hard to tell which are bona fide but this one looks hopeful and very nice, not too far from where I would be working, all bills included and reasonably priced.

Find out how you pay for the utility bills such as gas and electric, is it billed to a tenant or do you pay a share separately.

What is the procedure for reporting internal problems and who pays for the repairs.

Check if there are any hidden costs – are the tenants responsible for external repairs and maintenance such as painting windows and roof repairs. (Generally in business leases the tenant pays, whereas the landlord is often responsible in domestic). Find out when these were last done.

Ask about Council Tax and TV Licence Fees – more likely hidden costs. You will want to know how much.

And then you want to meet the other tenants of course, to make sure there are no loonies! Good luck.

And don't forget the questions you'll want to ask but probably shouldn't, like:

"Thanks for showing me the broom cupboard. Now where is my room?"
"Are you sure that strange stuff growing on the walls isn't toxic?"
"Do you mind if I install an extra deadbolt or 4 on my door?"
"Are you keeping up to date with the payments on the building insurance?"
"You do know that you're legally not allowed to enter my room without giving me 24 hours warning, don't you?"
"Is it alright if I record the state of the house on videotape before I move in, in case I have to use it as evidence in a court of law after you tried to steal all my damage deposit?"

Or failing that, I'd just stick with weedydiamond's questions

(I'm glad I don't have to houseshare any more...)

Also check what happens if one of your housemates doesn't pay their rent, and where it leaves you...

Haha, same Although, as much as it's in jest, taking photos/video of the state of the place when you move in can be vital in terms of getting your deposit back. Good luck anyway

Wow thanks for the advice. I always end up being one of those annoying turds who asks too many questions and it looks like it'll be no different tomorrow!

The main music forum on this website is weird. Try and start a discussion surrounding something and all you get is questioned and attacked, instead of people doing what you asked them which is give their own examples.

That's why this is the only board I come to now. A lot of the people you come across on DS are so up their own asses their heads smell.
