i have been watching a lot of the olympics because i am on holiday.. got another week to go yeah!.. i have freesat and have access to several olympic channels.. the coverage has been fantastic.. i'm not sure if it is provided by the bbc, but some of their commentators really go overboard with the praise.. when you mentioned jessica sbrum, i remembered the bbc commentator from last night.. i should have said that it was him who was doing the fawning.. i'm sorry for giving the impression it was you..
it is a great achievement for her.. mo farah's achievement was incredible.. all the medallists are great achievements.. when watching tomorrow's papers later, all but one of the papers went for jessica's image for the front page.. (one went for the woman's rowing pair) sadly mo's victory was probably too late for the presses..Both Greg and Mo got interviewed as well. For me, Jess got me a bit emotional because she got her medal on the night, Mo and Greg get theirs tonight instead. Just watched Andy Murray win gold against Federer. Usually I back Federer because tennis is about the character rather the country for me but here, I was 100% Murray. So brilliant to see him win so comprehensively especially after how emotional the Wimbledon final was. Sports Personality of the Year is going to be blinding this year. Let's hope he can do it again with Laura Robson later. I certainly won't love Belarus! |

So happy for Andy, he completely blew Federer off the court. He's definitely the form player going into the US Open...

I'm not a fan of del Potro but I'm pleased Argentina have made their 2012 debut on the medal table. So pleased for Venus and Serena too. Fingers crossed for Andy and Laura. Azarenka's going to be looking to better her bronze and I don't think silver will be enough for her. Everyone got earphones ready? Just watching Fed talk to Sue - he's such a gent, isn't he? I do love Sue Barker too! |

It's supposed to skip a generation isn't it? So, when my sis starts breeding, we could have twinsanity all over again! Quote:

He said he didn't play that badly and that it could have been different if some of the big points went his way - he obviously slept through that hour long spell where he couldn't win a game! Quote:

Fingers crossed for Katie. |

Also I think this games could be big for British tennis. I feel confident Murray will get his first grand slam next year. US Open will be taken by Nadal after his 2nd round Wimbledon exit and no Olympic participation, he should be fresh.
Whilst I think this will be the major kick on for Laura Robson. I feel Heather Watson will start kicking on next year too. Should be very exciting for British tennis next year |

Nadal won't win the US Open, he's injured and even if he makes it back in time he won't be match fit. Plus even when he's healthy the hardcourts are tough for him. I think Murray has a great chance to win it.
. I think a fully fit Nadal would have a chance though, even if hard courts are tough for him. WInner and runner-up in the previous 2 US Opens speak for themselves. Must agree with Murray having a great chance though. Going in as Wimbledon champion and Olympic champion...possibly double Olympic champion ![]()

I'm delighted for Del Potro after losing that marathon match against Federer. I wouldn't have begrudged Novak a medal but he has a bronze already (and so much more).

I want Laura and Andy to win this so much but I think Belarus have it tied up.

I like her. Was calling her Dolphin Girl today and imitating the difference between her power sonar and her frustrated sonar. I'm cool.

so much to comment on, but I've taken my lappy walkabouts to the sofa so that I can see tonights results and watch my beloved fletics at the same time
![]() gotterz, sounds like you had a great time - am insanely jealous, wish I was experiencing it Chickens, I bet you're homesick - the marathon this morning went straight through the area I used to work in, it was very humbling I was glued to the gymnastics finals, the two GB medal winners are both from the Eastern region - cue local BBC news making a meal of that I missed the tennis as I'm a velodrome addict, excellent bronze for Kenny in the Omnium |

Don't think that the BBC have even mentioned Dwain Chambers once tonight - guess they haven't forgiven him for doping-gate yet

I couldn't remember if she was Katarina Johnson-Thompson or Katarina Thompson-Johnson earlier. I said both just in case!
I can never decide whether I like him or not. Insane Bolt always brings a smile to my face though.
