I'm clearly as sceptical as you then gotterz, I thought exactly the same - I bet every other Eurovision fan did too...

A bloodbath or baldness, not sure which is worse!

As for great athlete names, de Araujo of Brazil has to be the best. ('Au' being like the 'au' in the German word "Haus", and j like the French j and the 'o' like the 'oo' in "hoot".)

EDIT: His fellow decathlete, Newdick, isn't so subtle.

Great day for us Irish! Cian's bronze in the showjumping, Katie upgrading her medal to at least silver (and we have high hopes for gold) and three more boxers on at least a bronze. Our most successful Olympics in 56 years.

I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of Katie. She's brutal.

I think its pretty common knowledge than countries like Azerbaijan, Bahrain and Qatar (and also Turkey) imports former Kenyans/Ethiopian to win medals for them in Championships.

I did find it odd that there were so many black people in these countries.

More eurovision in the Olympics! An Azeri rythmic gymnast just used a snippet of Volare in her routine.

I've had a brilliant week at the Olympics. I got to see Bolt in the 200m last night which was amazing and Grabarz win his medal in the high jump on Tuesday night.

Eurovision is never far from my mind though. I had a Eurovision moment when I was queuing for lunch on Tuesday. I spent the rest of the day with the Trackshittaz in my head after spotting this http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/35/212pm.jpg/

see there's the problem then. i think a man who thinks a completely hairy armpit is okay and expects every woman to have her body hair shaved really is not from this era. but no offence to you hmm?

(and congratulations ireland!)
