Apparently, this might be the last Olympics with Modern Pentathlon...
Edit: We should be safe, Rio have already identified locations for the different events: http://www.rio2016.org/en/the-games/...entathlon-park |

Vicky Pendleton really is stunningly beautiful. Now she's retiring from sport she should take up modelling.

I'd have turned for Miss Lithuania.
Modern pentathon is utterly ridiculous though. Get rid. (we need a dribble smilie)

Missed this on Sunday. Shame, as she is indeed a hottie.

It would be a shame if that was the case, but luckily the only reference I can find that talks about it getting removed in 2016 is the Daily Mail site, which is only slightly less reliable a source than "a friend of a friend who knows someone who works with a cleaner at the IOC headquarters".
Edit: We should be safe, Rio have already identified locations for the different events: http://www.rio2016.org/en/the-games/...entathlon-park I think it was the first time they had the "first finishing" ends first. On Swedsh TV they want to do the same with the hepthathlon, but it would be unfair to poor 800m-runners... |

I just discovered a sweet shop near me that sells stuff imported from the US, I went there today and bought Reece's cups, Wonka nerds, rainbow Twizlers, Charelston Chew and some Kool-Aid. I'm getting in touch with my American heritage, I am 25% of it afterall.

Yay! All booked for Copenhagen a week on Thursday! Hoping for plenty of DMGP moments (like this) along the way! Definitely going to take a day trip to Malmo!
Anyone got any recommendations on what to do there (Cop or Malmo)? |

Anyone got any recommendations on what to do there (Cop or Malmo)? I also visited Copenhagen and Malmo in 2004. The Rosenborg museum has some interesting stuff http://dkks.dk/english/ I wrote at the time: “ I discovered that the Danish royal family over the last 400 years had two strange traits: they all had enormous noses, and they are all called Christian or Frederik alternately. I guess this saves a lot of time thinking up names for the first child.” I never got to the Amelianborg but the Citadel is sometimes open but you have to be careful not to upset the military. The Little Mermaid is mega-disappointing, but you have to go to see why. In Malmo I think the castle holds the museum, http://www.malmotown.com/en/list/cul...almohus-castle and when I was there was a 14th Century Cog which you get aboard and wander around. http://www.malmo.com/guide/profile.a...=975&c=20&d=15 It is north of the main Malmo Central railway Station – follow the Skeppsbron road north to the ferry terminal. Also there is a chain of pubs called the Bishops Castle which are a strange alternative to the usual Irish Bar.(there is one on the road south of Malmo Central). Take plenty of money – beer is very expensive. Have fun! |

As thms has already suggested, the Tivoli Gardens are a good place to visit, its a sort of funfair/gardens/tearooms/open air theatre and sometimes they have live artistes playing in the open air – when I visited in 1995 the place filled up around 7pm, so I bagged myself a good viewing point hoping to see some Danish rock band or other Danish super-artist – only to find that at 8pm out bounced Cliff Richard. I was so disappointed I took myself off to the hotel bar.

Don't know if that sounds very appealing or not at all!I'm not surprised the Little Mermaid is disappointing, it's always looked and sounded like it'll be crap. But yes I will be going to see it! ![]() On the train between Copenhagen and Malmo I fully intend on acting like Saga Noren: looking awkward and confused by people's regular behaviour, asking people extremely personal questions without batting an eyelid and making quite a hurtful comment to the ticket inspector when they come through. It'll be great! ![]() Thanks for your tips. I shall fully inspect Malmo and ensure that the city is capable of hosting the contest next year. I'll pack my tape measure. |

Oh Deana.
I wanted so desperately for her to win. At least Luke's a worthy winner and the soldiers filled up the top three.

I'm a little giddy at the moment ... in half an hour I finish proper work (apart from a couple of short overtime shifts) until FIFTH OF SEPTEMBER
I can't tell you what a relief it is, I've not had any time off since Eurovision week

There must be something in the air today, I just went down to my local corner shop and the clerk said that I look beautiful and asked me what my name was. I was flattered but he's Bangladeshi so I didn't stay for too long just incase I get involved in an arranged marriage.
