When I watch BBCi it's perfect. Clear and crystal.

ITV player... pixelated, buffers, and is generally awful espeically on anything moving.

And it's not just in my place. Is ITV going to ever make it better?

BBCi makes ITV player look like something from the 90's.

Pretty standard for them? PIC

Damn. that's a dreadful picture. Although I don't watch ITV Player very much, I do get a better picture than that. Saying that though, the ITV player on Sky is pretty dire.

Watching it on my laptop, in Chrome. Tried it in FF and IE to with pretty much same results. It's not always that bad, but it certainly isn't up to BBCi standards, that's for sure.

This PIC was done 2 minutes ago.

But then, ITV player always has been poor.

I would urge anyone who is finding the ITV player rubbish to do the same as I've done and send them a feedback complaint. The more complaints they receive the more likely they are to address the problems–especially if you mention their advertisers will be less than pleased to know they're wasting their money paying to advertise on a service that doesn't work.

Never use ITV player due to it lasting no more than just a couple of minutes before it crashes....just use 'youtube'.... more than adequate for the latest tv programmes and so much more stable...

ITV player has been the same for years regardless of what broadband speed you have.I have a similar problem with BBC iplayer at times...but not so much as ITV player... Youtube all the way for me as it has always been fail-safe.

BBC iplayer really should be called catchup UK and cover all terrestrial channel.

ITV News has recently dumped the ITV Player software for Vimeo for their news reports. Much better quality.

I've always used the STV version - much better than the abysmal effort from ITV.

Other than the resolution not being fantastic I never have any stability issues with ITV Player.

No buffering or freezing. I recently changed Broadband provider (Virgin 10mb to Sky at about 11mb) and both were/are fine with ITV.

I did read that the BBC suggested that to the other terrestrial networks but they declined the offer saying they preferred to provide their own catch-up service.

As for ITV Player, I've used it a couple of times via my Humax Foxsat Freesat receiver and it works fine.

I use the BBCi player more than I do the ITV player and once in a while use the STV player.

Also is it me or is their a-z rather small and full of mostly old stuff? Recent programmes often aren't on there.

They agreed to do it but Ofcom blocked it.
