I initially came up with the idea of a house with individuals escaping for a cash prize but as more escaped the less each received. This was changed in order to allow for a longer series and several other components.

Force was basically an idea whereby a panel of 'decision makers' were put in charge of a population (we hadn't decided yet if it was to be real or simulated) who were faced with lots of disaster-like situations - things like terrorist attacks, earthquakes etc. The decision makers had to try and protect their populations, basically. It wasn't a totally finished concept, though.

We have devised a new reality show called Force, and would love to know your opinion of it! The idea focuses around two groups of decision makers who are in charge of two different populations of people. The game makers throw challenges at the decision makers, such as terrorist attacks, natural disasters etc, and the decision making teams have to protect their simulated people from disaster. The team who suffers the most casualties loses, and the weakest member is eliminated.

Wasn't the idea actually narutofan's?

Sorry, it might have been I'm not 100% sure. We were discussing that idea on MSN and narutofan was also there but I do remember Zak pushing it strongly but it may have been Narutofan's but both members pushed the concept.

pothuthic turned up for a short while, immediately felt eager to write the pitch, however once he had sent it off me and the other active members didn't particularly think it was too strong and would help our chances.

I feel Zak, Naruto and Dondfan gave the task 100%. Poth gave a small part of the pitch and that was all that he contributed and whenever I sent the full pitch to teammates, they did want to change the part Poth wrote so his actual part of the pitch wasn't in the final pitch. I do think however Poth did contribute more than Hutchy though and obviously more than 21st Century Boy.

The idea of contestants escaping a house for a cash prize with the concept that the more contestants that escaped the less they each received was my idea. This was tweaked and edited to get our current idea.

The original concept was sort of based around The Hunger Games reference in the task description - we wanted something to match how big and futuristic that show was, whilst also staying grounded in reality. The idea was to borrow aspects of the show, but to modify it, add our own thing and make it exciting, big and new. It was meant to be like a sort of framework for us to work original aspects around, rather than a direct copy.

Nothing is really original, technically. You could say that about our old concept, however the same can be said for the other teams current concept?

It is literally 'Trapped'.

Part of the concept behind 'Force' was looking at a show that did badly 8 years ago, and re-inventing it. Finding what went wrong and working on it to create a winning formula. That is originality. It was never going to be the same show.

I completely disagree with you saying it's Trapped. You notice that Trapped is a show where 6 children are in a house being controlled by an earpiece to do things. The Establishment involves multiple teams fighting against each other in wacky but daring tasks to make it to the next round. It's completely different, both have a mansion but that's pretty much it!

We all had never heard of Trapped before and theyre both vastly different. Whereas, you took a concept and reinvented it, that is not originality.

To be honest though,some of your tasks look like they were created for a child, particularly the 'Cake room'!

Personally yours also seemed very messy - having someone like Karren Brady judging a talent show is just ridiculous.

The basis of both is precisely the same. Escape the location. As I said in my post; the only minute different is that in Trapped it features a saboteur element.

And, I don't even see why this is relevant. This was our old idea. We've completely changed everything...

There has got to be some entertainment value otherwise the show wouldnt work. The tasks were designed differently and the cake room was what we thought could be humourous and entertaining.

We also had a team element rather than just a normal show and different tasks.

Why do you believe this to be the case? She's honest, intelligent - Versus is about various skills - being intelligent and good with business is one of many skills encompassed by the show.

When someone has pointed out that your idea actually exists (and it's an excellent concept, btw), even if you were unaware of it, you're not really in too much of a position to bang on about originality...
