Sick of the negative threads on her and wanted to do a nice thread on her

I have only recently properly explored her Something To Remember era and I must say this ballad is amazing, stunning and breathtaking.

Anyone else like this song?

Madonna's ballads are simply beautiful

It's ok, it's on Madonna's 'B' list of her immense back catalogue. I think her best ballads are 'Take A Bow' and 'Inside of Me'

I agree! I'm a big Madonna fan but this is not one of my favourite ballads by her. It's a little too MOR and conservative. It to me doesn't suit her. It's more something Celine Dion would do.

It's interesting though although I'm not too big on it as a hardcore Madonna fan, people who otherwise don't like her or just casual fans, seem to love You'll See. They always mention it as one of their favourite songs even though it wasn't one of her biggest hits, which I've always found a bit strange.

I love it. I love her ballads. Crazy For You, Love Don't Live Here Anymore, Live To Tell, Rain, This Used to Be My Playground, Take a Bow, Something to Remember, The Power of Goodbye, Frozen...

All stunning songs that don't get nearly as much credit as they deserve purely because it's Madonna singing them.

I'm pretty sure I'll be sounding negative here but it's certainly not one of her finest ballads - but then some have dissed Live To Tell so each to their own
I've never been taken by it and I don't think I ever will. In fact it is a very disappointing listen each time I hear it.... Still, the lyrics are strong and the video is so stunning as her delivery.
To me, her finest ballad(s), if we exclude the singles , are Love Tried To Welcome Me, To Have Not To Hold, Gone & In This Life.

That's what i thought but actually the song peaked at 5 over here and has sold a total of 350,000 copies. Not bad.

she was still `struggling` in the uk at the time. however, i would love to go back to a time when almost all her songs charted in the top 10. it really should have got higher though and she even went on `top of the pops` to promote it. like i said, a different time.

yes, those were the days. in some ways `something to remember` is my favourite compilation album from her. it definitely is a mood album, but it just highlight how good she is at ballads.

i like the ballads on mdna also, but do think she has delivered a great new album all-round and of course i may be biased.

Well i have been a fan for the last 14 years of my life, so i am. But have become a bigger fan in the last few years. It can take me a while to like things, Something to remember being one of those parts of hern career.

Its a great song. Accoroding to MTV it's her 20th best selling song and sold more than Ray of Light, Justify My Love and Express Yourself.

It definately deserved a place on GHV2 and Celebration.

It's one of the best ballads Madonna has ever recorded. A really beautiful, haunting song. Early to mid 90s Madonna is probably my favourite period of her career.

So glad she has Falling Free and Masterpiece on MDNA - Madonna ballads have been extinct since 2003

im by no means a Madonna fan but she has got an amazing back singles catalogue and this has always been my favourite Madge song. Everything for me is perfect, this just goes to show that sometimes a ballad doesnt need HUGE vocal gymnastics and key changes and hitting 48 different notes per second to make it a good ballad...im looking at u Mariah and Celine-who im huge fans of lol

Susan Boyle is a huge fan of this song. It's personal to her,. I think she covered it on one of her albums. She was denied using it for her Musical though.
