Oh drat.
I was hoping for something else in the works, that wouldn't have elicited that particular reply. But, I suppose it'll do. |

Morning.
![]() Apologies that this report of the celebrity soccer match is slightly late to the AT and that it's just a copy and paste from what I posted on FB, but sometimes I just lack the necessary effort!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Ok, so Aaron didn't score but we very much enjoyed watching him play in the sunshine. He played mostly in defence so the scoring opportunities simply didn't fall his way. However, he did well in his given position by stopping the progress of the other team on a few occasions. He did a particularly impressive run down the left wing to stop a chance on goal and guided the ball to his keeper. However, it seems I was the only one who saw that as the others were all chatting away behind me! One brave move from Aaron towards the end of the first half was a thumping defensive header. Why a brave move? Well, before the match started the players came across the pitch to take there positions while the rest of the team went to take their places on the bench. Aaron walked to dug-out and a big CLANG rang out around the ground. He smacked his head full on the edge of the shelter like a beauty!! Fear not. There was no blood or bruising and we later learnt he went on to hit his head on the roof again...twice. Daft sausage. The match ended in a 3-3 draw but the penalties went to the other team. Aaron played about 3/4 of the match but didn't take any penalties. There were probably about 300 people in attendance and Aaron got stopped for photos a couple of times by non-group/DS members on his way back to the changing room, so he had interest from outside our familiar faces. Faye too was stopped for photos, however this apparently wasn't enough to garner her a vip wristband which allowed her into the vip area. Bless her, she didn't feel the need to either ask or be bothered about it and, along with Jay, just stayed with us. It worked in our favour though as rather than sit in the chilly shaded seats miles away from the dugouts we sat together on the grass in the sun, which gave us a much better view of Aaron playing. Later on, though, Sue snuck off and sorted out a couple of wristbands for Faye and Jay so they could join Aaron in the vip bit after the match. Although, there was a funny moment before all this at the bar area. While standing with his vip wristband on - but before he'd got changed into his kit - a woman came round for the raffle and explained to him the prize was the chance to go on the pitch, meet the celebs and win a shirt worn during the match by the celeb of his choice. She didn't realise he was playing! Anyway, I'm afraid I was a complete lameass and didn't get any photos of my own. You already know there's another match on the way so I won't repeat that. |
