Having 37K+ followers can be very useful if you ever have anything you wish to announce or something to sell. If he ever sets up another account, he'll find it very, very difficult (if not impossible) to gain as many followers. So I can only imagine his decision to delete it was made on the spur of the moment and guess that it is something that he may subsequently be forced to repent at leisure.
The decision was probably made easier by the fact that Faye has even more followers and will presumably be willing to act as his agent for marketing purposes in the future!
I wouldn't mind betting also that Aaron realised that his policy of following all and sundry was a bit of a mistake. If you are following thousands of people, it becomes a full-time occupation to monitor important messages that need answering. Rather than upset people by unfollowing them, maybe he just decided to delete the account?
Personally, I would have kept the account open for future use as a potential marketing tool but stopped reading people's tweets or messages and warned them in my profile not to expect any response.”
