There is something though overall about this bunch i can't connect with the way i did last years or previous BB's, can't put my finger on it.

I am just finding that nobody stands out like Aaron did last year.

They are all too nasty and the girls are uber bitchy. It makes me laugh how Lydia is praised for game playing yet Aaron was destroyed for it.
Aaron only game played when necessary, if he was the ruthless player they said he was, he would not have been up for eviction every week.
Lydia is a backstabber and ruthless, yet loved. As for the rest meh..

I think we can spot a talent when we see one.

In fairness Aaron fell into three camps, those that thought he was gameplaying and loved it, those that thought he was gameplaying and hated it and those that thought he was genuine, being himself and not playing a game.

Lydia is no different.She is loved by some for gamelaying and hated by others for it.

She tells the people she likes what she thinks to their face, yes we've seen her moan about Adam and Benedict but she has told both what she thinks to their face. Everyone else is fair game imo. Ashleigh, Sara, Luke, Arron, Conor, Luke S, Becky, Scott and especially Caroline have been scathing about other hm's behind their backs and not said it to their face but only Lydia is being slated for it. I'd rather support a hm who backstabs just to win the game than a hm who is just nasty about someone because they're not a nice person e.g. Ashleigh.

Lydia is truly playing a survival strategy in the house and I think it's absolutely fine if people don't like that type of gameplaying but she's not actually ever said anything spiteful about or to anyone, she passes her opinion a lot on the goings on as if she was an fm but she's never been spiteful e.g. saying she wishes someone would swallow their toungue and sleep. there are plenty of others who have said some very spiteful things.

In past BB's I have sometimes supported the gameplayer ( e.g. Victor) and sometimes not ( e.g. Makosi) It purely depends how they play the game for me, it's obvious with Lydia there's no malice it's just her car crash survival tactic and it's bound to come unstuck pretty soon.

BB have changed the game and there is not one hm in there who has managed to get to two weeks without a significant amount of bitching and for most of them backstabbing. Maybe if they weren't allowed to discuss noms a few of them would have managed to not show their bitchy side but this new game means we have to judge them on how they play the game so what's the point in trying to work out who's the most likeable in a bunch of unlikeable husemates. May as well go for the entertainment value.

Luckily because they are all so unlikeable I won't be voting this year and can there fore save some pennies which is a bonus, especially after last year!

I am hoping for Adam to lead the non groupers to some kind of cohesion ( Lydia, Lauren/Benedict,Adam, Luke A, Deana)

Benedict anyone else favourite now?

Hoping he doesn't go tomorrow, think it would be very premature and a shame for the series as a whole, would be like Aaron going when he was up in week 3 last year.

I don't think Benedict is like Aaron at all - for all the crap he took, Aaron was, at the end of the day, a decent, sensitive guy who got along well with other decent people and brought a lot of self-aware humor to the mix.

Benedict is, well... none of that.

I didn't compare him to Aaron as a person, not the same at all and i agree with what you have said.

Still Beni is the only one who i have found properly entertaining so far in these last couple days and for me would be like Aaron being evicted in week 3 last season, just way to early.

I feel much the same, but about Lauren. I think the show would suffer immeasurably without her and it would be way too premature for her to go now. Lauren is this year's Faye, in my opinion.

I like Lauren, she is nice and genuine imo but i don't think overall it will be better for the series if she stays over Benedict, so really hoping there is a late swing in his favour, for entertainment value alone.

I don't see how someone who spends most of his time not joining in the games, trying to have heavy philosophical discussions that no one wants to hear and whose high point is his willingness to lecture others on morality can be remotely entertaining, never mind more entertaining than fun-loving, heart of gold, karate champion Lauren.

Lauren is nice, fun loving but entertainment wise going forward will be lacking, i;d want her to stay over the majority of others in the house but more because she is nice and genuine than for entertainment value.

Unfortunately she is a bit weak for the other girls and an easy target.

Benedict is a force to be reckoned with for the clique in their.

Benedict has some Aaron like traits which have been overshadowed by his sexual behaviour.Like Aaron dismantled the wolfpack,he is the only person in the house capable of dealing with the cliches.Aaron is not all that innocent to saying sexual things in public on his sites,though they are entertaining more than crude.

If you like Faye,you may like Lauren.I am not sure if Lauren is as weak as she is being portrayed.Faye was edited as a mourner,needy,weak but up for a laugh.In real life,she is always up for a laugh but nothing else.Faye is less sensitive and more confident than Aaron in real life.

It is a tough one for me now,because I was going to vote for Lauren but Beni has come out fighting.I watched BBOTS last night.

First off, the boys are just as bitchy as the girls. Secondly, I would hardly describe Lydia as being 'loved.' She's one of the most unpopular HMs in there.

Every previous Big Brother would have produced a much different first two weeks had housemates been allowed to discuss nominations and results may well have been different.

Whilst it is natural and fun to compare current housemates with previous ones in how they seem to be in the house, in my own opinion I would hesitate to make such comparisons when the circumstances are so different.

That is the purpose of the forum.If we discussed every BB show in isolation then there is no need to have a BB forum.We can as well post in TV shows

BIB - I think there is also a fourth camp for people like me who like Aaron as a person because he was largely being himself warts and all, but also who admire the way he played the game. Just because you are playing the game doesn't mean you're not being yourself - I don't see why the two have to be mutually exclusive? Aaron was a good strategist as we saw in week five when they were allowed to talk about noms but he didn't amend his personality - he could have been totally fake and not gone into his little strops when he was fed up with some of the other housemates - and could have sailed through to the final like Alex who didn't put a foot wrong (a game plan which helped her survive to the final). I find it funny that because someone is behaving nice they are not considered to be a gameplayer. IMO anyone being too nice would immediately raise my suspicions!!! Everyone plays the game so I think the label gameplayer is redundant really because virtually every housemate is playing the game to get as far as they personally can in the house. Some are just more subtle than others. Some play the be nice to everyone card like Alex, some play more strategically like Aaron, Harry etc.

What I don't like about a lot of this years' housemates is that I think a lot of them are being fake, and I really can't tell if there are any genuine friendships in the house,, maybe one or two but a lot are for convenience's sake. Last year at least there were genuine friendships/relationships some of which as we know have lasted the distance. Whatever can be said about Aaron's gameplaying he forged some genuine friendships and obviously one special relationship .

I agree that Lydia isn't as bad as some of the others in the fact she seems more honest and open although I do find her annoying - some of the others are very two-faced. Not happy that Chris went - love him or hate him, he was so funny ! I just have a feeling some of the interesting characters will go and we will be left with the likes of Ashleigh, Sara, Luke A and Connor at the end (borefest)!

I agree with you - I don't think he was any more of a gameplayer than a lot of the housemates in there. I think a lot of people tagged the "gameplayer" label on him because they didn't like his strops/mood and just wanted to stick a "negative" label on him. I maintain that Alex played a blinding game from start to finish yet this was never openly acknowledged by people on BOTS. In fact I remember Emma Willis saying after Aaron's win that people had chosen the gameplayer to win as opposed to voting for someone nice like Alex. This totally bemused me firstly because she was implying that Aaron is not a nice person and secondly that Alex wasn't playing a game.

It is highly unlikely that anyone watching BB for the first will be posting on BB forums.They wouldnt know what to say because the discusson involves shows and housemates from past shows.They will have to wait for a few more years.

Not at all.How many posts do you have in the MF? or voted in MF all show polls. This is a thread about one hm and one show,it suits you but it is not BB forums.Obviously you have found comparing difficult.I like Aaron because I like similar hms from previous shows.

I saw a little of Aaron in Benedict, in the way he read and sussed the HM's and their motives. Lauren is adorable, imo, but she lacks the maturity of Faye. It was nice to see Benedict support both Lauren and Luke A on BBBots. I agreed with his reasoning that both would benefit far more than himself through the BB experience.
