Oh no! I dropped my new iPad!
......and smashed the screen in the process...gutted.
If I take it back to the Apple Store will they replace it or charge me for putting a new glass screen on it? |

Apple will more than likely replace the entire device. Easier for them than replacing just the screen.
However their warranty does not cover accidental damage. So they are more than likely going to charge you. http://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/...d-english.html See the second paragraph under "What is not covered by this warranty" |

It depends on who you speak to.
OH dropped his i-phone & smashed the screen (the phone still worked) He rang them & was told he would be charged but when he took it in they did it for free. |

Thanks to everybody here for all your helpful tips.
Got it exchanged for a new one but had to pay £249 for repairs to the old one despite my wide eyed pleas. As suggested here I'm gonna try my home insurance company to cover the cost. |
