Help needed.......how to defrost pork in gravy.

So I had some roast pork leftovers last Sunday and decided to coover them in gravy and then freeze them to try and keep some moisture in the meat.

Questions is, what's the best way to defrost? I wanted it for dinner tonight, but that's not going to happen is it.

I'd defrost/cook in the microwave.

Thanks for the reply degs. Would you set the micro to defrost and them once defrosted set on high heat or just on high heat straight away? I don't freeze food much so I'm unsure what's "safe" lol

Yes, I would defrost or cook on low/30% for 5 or so minutes to get it defrosted first and then you can cook on high to get it fully heated through.

Microwaves are different so it'll be a bit of trial and error and checking every few minutes.

If I am a bit rushed I usually stick my frozen stuff in the airing cupboard to defrost. It usually only takes an hour if you turn it/separate it occasionally and doesn't get cooked in places like the microwave seems to do!

Slightly off topic but here's how I defrost a frozen chicken fillet.

Place 1 or 2 chicken fillets in a microwaveable bowl.
Cover with cold water and seal with the lid or clingfilm.

Cook on 10% for 10 minutes.

If they are thick fillets and are still frozen in the middle (you'll be able to tell by feel) then empty the water, recover with cold water, reseal the lid and cook for a further 2 to 4 minutes on 10% power.

I've been using this method successfully for a couple of years.

If you want to cook the fillets then do the same but cook on full power.
It will poach them. You can even add flavourings such as stock/stock powder, spices etc.
